For tanking you can use even Arcane Warrior. Combat Magic, Rock Armor, Shimmering Shield and such spells do the trick in combination with massive armor. Unfortunately, your fatigue will be so high you won't be almost able to cast anymore spells.

I actually didn't realize how awesome dexterity is until i passed the game for the first time. I always left it to around 25, instead of pumping it way high to 40 if possible.
Every point raises the attack for 0.5 and armor for 1 if i recall correctly.
Point is to get targeted but not to get hit. Often. And all you need is one tank. Using more just sucks.
Here's why.
Revenants
Dragons.
Both use massive attacks that deal massive damage, but they don't do that when they're fighting with one guy solo.
So send one, and get bows for others. Thats about it you can do.
Keep in mind that dragons do grab, and they need to be stunned when they grab or overwhelm. Best thing is force field on them. If you have morrigan and wyne, you should get force field for both of them. In chance **** happens.
Heroic offense and defense are your best weapons against boss fights.
I tried haste, didn't like it.
Spell combos:
Cone of cold + critical hit/massive attack/critical smash = shatter
Cone of cold + stonefist = shatter
Cone of cold + force prison = shatter
Affliction hex + mana drain / life drain = bigger drains. Double.
Spell force + animate dead = stronger skeletons.
grease + fireball = fire aoe burning.
Sleep + nightmare = whoa damage. about 150 spirit damage. With items you can get abotu 30-40% more damage, and with stronger spellpower you can deal about 200-250 damage.

Another. Find one of the merchant's that sell 99x Flasks and Elfroots, then have somebody just crank out Lesser Health Poultices. Set your tank's first tactic to use one every time it's hp drops below 50%, then hit the Revenant/Dragon with Curse of Mortality, Misdirection Hex, and if possible, Death Hex.
The elfroot / Lyrium potion spam is gold. Best thing is to get double the items needed and spam out normal potions if you can. Lesser works just fine, however it can be annoying when either alistair or sten is flying through the air in a dragon's mouth and -barely- passes out.
I'm still on my quest of awesomeness on my Mage, stacking buffs like proxies/women on Arcane Warrior mode. I'm almost bloody unbeatable now. Hell, I'm so awesome I can STAB Ogres with a HAMMER to death ( kill animation glitch, and a hilarious one at that.).
I got 99 lesser potions and 99 regular ones, both health and lyrium, so I can just spam the hell out of them. I usually don't need them though, most enemies only do 1 damage to me.
My trapper elf is coming out nicely. Just did a little experiment with Large Shrapnel Traps and 2 of them can kill almost any mob. They have some good radius too! I gotta learn to use Lures now ...
It's simple. one mele, others ranged. He goes down.
If he doesn't, try using your rogue / zevran as a tank. Guy is two handed and he's slow to attack. And your evasion is / should be high
Speaking of Revenants, I trap-spamed one for the lulz today. 3 large shrapnel traps and one large claw trap. He went down quite fast after that... but then again, I am playing in Easy... so yeah.
Oh, and the bow stances suck. Never use them. Ever. Go Duelist and use their first skill. That is what I'm planning on doing.
