What brought you to freelancer? Or who?

My son told me about it. At first I wasn't that interested in it because you had to use the mouse to fly with. Back then, I had only used a joystick to fly. With games such as WC1 ,2, 3, Privateer 1&2, X-wing, etc. you get the picture.
Anyway, that was 3 years ago. I am having a blast here.

My copy of Freelancer was a birthday present if I remember correctly. I soon discovered mods when I got my own computer and got hooked ever since.

Bought it new hoping for Privateer reborn. Played on the 24/7 server for a while.

Discovered Discovery in Iraq. Played single player for a while and actually had a good time. Discovered the Discovery server and was like LULWUT! Yeah, I was one of those till I found the forums. I thought they were just for the devs forever till a guy showing me around in a battlestar told me more.

Thousands of hours later......

Got Freelancer on my 9th Christmas....Thanks Santa....Now i'm stuck here for eternity....
And Found Discovery like 4 years ago when i was searching for mods....And left it for six months last year and back like a magnet....

While I'm tempted to say that it was Zelot's fault, its was actually my brothers flatmate - he had bought a new computer just so he could play FL.

so i sat and watched, and thought 'i want one of those'


i had a cracked copy for a while, and then later bought an actual real copy from amazon. for a quid!

Well a couple of yours ago a friend introduced me to freelancer, back then I played the story line and was done with it... but after I grew tired of wow I started playing freelancer again (vanilla singleplayer) I wanted some more ships so I searched for a mod... and so I ended up in this community:PI still can't believe I joined over a year ago... time really flies by

Well....way back when....I bought the game from Fry's Electronics when they were like brand new.

I didnt play the game to much back than and disco was in it's early phase. Had a high player count though so I popped in. Got mad cause I didnt start with some giant ship....but than got over it and found out I HATE trading and all definitions of it! Took to long for me. So once i got my first cap....I was hooked. Im a whore deal with it!

A year ago, I played this really odd game that is similar to FL, but much crappier and outdated. So when I mentioned space battles and stuff, my friend told me I should play FL. Three months later, I got a copy and played the vanilla. Three months later, he told me to join Discovery.

Heh, hear I am now:D. A rather unusual type of game play for me.

Well, that is a good question. What brought me to Freelancer? Up to this day I do not know the true answer to this dilemma. Was it a will of god or just a coincidence?
Well, this is how it happened. It was a sunny day on one of the saturdays. As usual I was smoking loads of crack, drinking Gin and Tonic with sushi and watching my favorite cartoon POKEMON. I decided to step out on a balcony to smoke a cigarette, right after I took a phat hit on my "Devastator", that is how I call my 6FT. bong. Well, you probably realize that I am baking like a school girl on a prom night, I step out, by the way I live on the 10th floor of a building and light up a cigarette. I remember taking a deep toke on the ciggy when I suddenly saw a freakishly big fireball flying through the sky. I screamed from the top of my lungs: "Holly jumping horny monkey on the mountain Everest, what the hell what that?", spit down from the balcony and took another toke. At that point I realized that I was trippin' like the same school girl, but next morning when she woke up amongst a team of football players. So, I take a nother toke and suddenly the same fireball flies across the sky...
-Jesus, I say to myself scratching my manhood, I should really cut down on my recreational activities. And another toke and another big spit down the street level. I take my head up and , sexy looking Monica Lewinski with Brittney, the fireball again. I mutter something to myself along the lines of: "F...k this, i am done, must get some tea..." and walk back inside. Suddenly a phone rang, I picked it up and the question that I heard from my neighbor really put me in a stupor. My friend Jake was asking me what the funk I was doing outside on my balcony for three freaking days? At this point I really didn't know what to say, except that fireball was flying in my mind. I guess the little dingleberry bell rang in my head and I decided to install the good old Freelancer and go explore the unknown universe....

Well, now you know what brought me to Freelancer.
