We have arrived here at Ames. The Kusari Navy was kind enough to grant us permission to pass through and we did so quietly. It's been some time since I have been here. Besides passing traffic, it is quiet.....for now.
*Rajuc appears happier than anyone's seen him in a long time*
Brothers and sisters of TAZ, I bring you news of victory! Today, I took the bortaS up to Languedoc to strike the first blows in a campaign that will end in the death of Aurelia DeFrance.
We undocked from Reunion, and went through the Jump Hole. As soon as we cleared the minefield in Languedoc, we detected a large vessel nearby that fit the description of a Gallic Royal Navy Battleship. We went to battlestations, and approached, expecting battle. As we got closer, though, we saw that the ship was a dead hulk left over from an old battle. I took the opportunity to collect detailed scans of the ship in order to get an idea of what we'd be up against. We were unable to get much, though, as the vessel had been stripped of every useful component. We moved on, and continued to scan everything we could.
After that was complete, we saw an active battleship on long-range scanners. This was the Battleship Carcassonne stationed at the Jump Gate to the Dauphine system. I did not intend to get into a protracted engagement with the ship. My intention was to assess the Carcassonne's tactical capabilities. I found the vessel to be an impressive foe. It reduced my shields to nothing, almost as soon as I entered range. As I did not intend to engaged in a protracted battle, I backed out of range and made to return to base to plan my next move.
As I moved off, the Battleship made no moves to pursue, as I expected. It seems to serve the same stationary role as battleships of the other four houses. As I moved away, however, I encountered an enemy patrol group consisting of a single cruiser, two gunboats, and two fighters. We did the only thing we could, and engaged the enemy. The cruiser's shields fell after several salvos from our pulse cannons, and and it's hull ruptured under the withering fire of our Light Mortar. The Gunboats and Fighters proved no challenge at all. We managed to take prisoners from the burning wrecks, including the commanders of all three capital vessels. My security officer is interrogating them as we speak. You have my assurances that I will not keep them prisoner long. They will be executed to spare them the indignity of capture and imprisonment. I will show them that much respect, at the least.
We're back on Reunion now, repairing the damage from the last battle, and laying plans for our next strike. I will keep you informed as the battle progresses. Qapla'!
I have been informed by the Outcasts that Maria has gone mad and started calling herself Amaranth. I hear she's at home to 'clear her head' but it doesn't look like she'll do well.
Annette out.
I have two deposits that were made to me. One for 60m the other 50m. That would be the total. I purposely did not login to my tadpole account until today, hoping to take the morning to see to the funding of the Freebirds. (update) Just got another 50m deposit. Thank you.
I have distributed 10m allocations to all the Freebirds, with the exception of the Erisiana which got 20m since she was lacking sorely. So 110m in 110m out.
That's where we stand. For those of you who have yet to dig into your flax, Let's extend this little offering into the next week. If we could get this done as soon as possible I'd appreciate it. The reason is that I am moving back to Las Vegas and will be offline from the twenty ninth until I get my internet set in the apartment in Vegas. So you can count on my being gone for at least a week.
If it is too much to soon, let me know. I am not trying to be unreasonable, but I believe we all need to give a little something back for the blessings of Eris. I didn't believe that the amount was insurmountable. This isn't something we do regularly. In the almost two years I've been in TAZ this is the second or third time I can recall the hat being passed.
Thank you. I've got the flax. Will distribute with the rest.
In other matters, I'll be contacting Liberty to see if we are out of the doghouse. Since I've seen no other reports... I can assume that we are shiney again. However... the trouble with assumption...as always. We shall see.
