Again depends on the ships. My orca will win attrition war against other gunboat in turret view because of the thin side profile, and its only when I come out of turret that I start taking more damage than I deliver. On the other hand the liberty and rheinland gunboats have very tall side profiles and they are easy targets in circular battle, for both of them it is better to kite and to maximize whatever advantage you can get from the forward gun.
Quote:A steering GB also cannot keep up with a Kiting/Boxing GB, and normally loses as well.
This is true in the sense that a pilot who is able to successfully dictate the type of engagement is more likely to win. Tactic itself may or may not be superior, same as turret steering is good and bad depending on lots of things

I refer to my previous post regarding zoom and NPCs.
If I try to zoom in a GB in Gamma, and 2/3 NPCs show up, aim it null/completely useless. Also, a boxing/strafing snub all the way up to GB class will dodge most of the fire.
Learn to counter it and it's a piece of cake to beat.
@Aeqvinox: *facepalm* My original point was that rear view isn't as awesome as you pipe it up to be, even if you use the "shield run effect", that is all.
@Everyone: Turret Steering/Zoom is not a kill all win all system. Its beatable just like everything else, its just new and people will adjust to it. Very well balanced.

That is not all.
Perhaps if i would share more details with you, or at least demonstrate, you might change your mind. But i don't think i will.
It's awesome enough for me to have a strong opinion about it.
