Is it also forbidden when I run from an attacker and he engine kills with cruise speed to fire CDs? (this means that the fight has not yet started)
If your chasing and you hit engine kill to fire a CD, thats allowed. You can't cruise in the middle of a fight, then hit engine kill so you can pass at 350m/s and fire at the same time. You can use thruster + engine kill, just not cruise.
This is an interesting part of FL's physics, but this mod does not change the way engine kill works. The reason you see your speed drop when making a engine-kill turn is because the speed indicator is programmed to use vectors, not scalars. A vector, you see, is both how fast you are going and in what direction you are moving in. Because Fl measures all your velocity vectors relative to the forward direction, when you turn sideways during an engine kill turn, it does not add the portion of your speed that is not in your forward direction. What you see on your screen is the amount of velocity you have at a 90 degrees (p/2 radians) to your ships wings. If your ship flips all the way around and is facing backward, then the vector is negative because your nose is opposite of its normal orientation so all the vectors are seen by the computer appear to be in reverse. When you turn, you have both forward velocity and sideways velocity so the number you see on your screen is not the actual value of your total velocity vector. This is a somewhat simplistic way of thinking about vectors because you are in 3-d space but it is pretty much what happens when you make an engine kill turn.
Also, In order to use engine kill, you have to not use the "go-to" function as this will not let you kill your engines until you cancel it.
