At any point, this is not about laws. It is about codehunting CSVs.
Have you read the thread?
People were discussing how to deal with codehunting CSVs. Someone suggested just blowing them up. I pointed out that there still has to be roleplay in order to do so. People are now saying that laws that don't exist can be used as justification for doing so. Laws are very much on-topic.
The root problem is that you can only loot a code off a wreck once for any given character. As long as that is true, CSV codehunting will continue.
If you could loot a given wreck more than once on a given character, there would be no need for CSV codehunting.
Codename inflation I think would contribute to the server in that monopolies would no longer exist on codenames and we would all be able to use the pretty-looking guns without having to shell out enough money to buy and outfit your average gunboat.
Edit: It's spelled "plague."
A way a lone a last a loved a long the riverrun, past Eve and Adam's, from swerve of shore to bend of bay,
brings us by a commodius vicus of recirculation back to Howth Castle and Environs.
If you want to pirate people for codenames, just make a pirate character.
Who's pirating? The Rheinland wrecks in Sigma-13 belong to the Rheinland government, as they are Rheinland government vessels, bought and paid for by Rheinland money, and (previously) flown by Rheinland pilots.
If it can be proven you took weapons off of those wrecks, and they demand them back, it is because you are stealing from the Rheinland government.
Seriously Hielor? Even I can figure this stuff out.

Agreed.

I'm not talking about Rheinland. I have already stated that it's perfectly fine for a Rheinland police officer to demand codenames, because it's written in their laws that unmounted codenames require a license:
' Wrote:If you're on a lawful anywhere but Rheinland (where, apparently, piracy by police forces is perfectly legal)...
No other house has codename possession as illegal, therefore no other house's police forces can lawfully demand code names. Coming up with excuses and making up laws to suit your case isn't the right way of going about things.
If you want to be able to take codenames from people as a police officer, get it written into your house's laws the way Rheinland did.
If we start allowing police officers to make up laws on the spot...well, that's not a road we want to go down.
I'm not talking specifically about Rheinland either! I was using them as an example because they're the only House that I know of with wrecks that drop codenames. (Yanagi debris field).
I don't think Liberty, Kusari, Bretonia, or Gallia would be very happy with you plundering their government property either.

There's another strike--S-13 is outside the ZOI for RFP.

Then it should be illegal there as well.
Currently, it is not illegal there.
Ergo, if a police character tries to demand them from you--he's pirating, not confiscating.
