Well When I join up in a few days ( waiting on my ethernet card:()

I'm all well and good for jumping in and doing it all myself, but I'm sure theres a million things not on this forum I could be taught and helped with, from commands and dangerous areas, to advice on the factions etc.

In a way, I'm after a mentor / friend i can chat with over skype or in game and just learn about discovery properly and get to grips with it all, I am really really wanting to get into this and to learn it all and if any of you richhaveeveryship vet's out there don't mind taking me under your wing ( just not next to your mines or torps ) then that'd be great ;D

Obviously taking into consideration your ID and mine, or however I get my first one lol ^^

*Tip*
Spend some time trading right of the bat..you are always going to need credits for something...maybe on the Forums, while you wait for your card, put in an application to some companies that offer small loans (IND and IC come to mind as well as a few private investors.)...ask for about 20 mill...thats enough to get you into something decent to start and its not such a large sum that you spend weeks just paying it back.

At first stick to short easy routes...it will give you time to learn the ropes with the ships interface, weapons, comms and such. It will take a bit, but it seems you have already spent a lot of time reading up on the forums, so you are ahead of the game.

Thanks, even that was new to me, I didnt realize it was that immersive we had companies and private investors etc. it's all amazing.

I guess it'll mostly all come in time learning it all.

I just don't like the thought of going into it and everyone getting on with their own thing, and newbs left to just be lost XD

so the player factions on there are like actual businesses and have their own roles/jobs and things to do?

that player guides thing looks like a the equiv of the bible, so im'a give that a haul over.

and i'll be non stop on the wiki, I think I now need to decide where i want to go in my RP career,

are we allowed multiple ships on one account/char name? so I can go out as mr x and mine/trade, then switch to a another ship?

Yes there are no multifaction rules here so you can have a Outcast on the same account as a Corsair orpolice if you wish.

If you need a start in finances I would recommend you hit the loan section and try your luck.

You can also join a faction, many of which have free starter ships or shared accounts for use as well as skype channels where people are only too happy to help with any questions you have.

I see I see..

I guess i'll understand it once i get into the gui of the account system.

My general understanding is i go mining/trading with one ship, make my 'dolla' then use that on my main / favoured ship to buy stuff with.

But in game would my name appear the same when using the trading ship and then my main?

You can name you ship just like you want.
For example you play as a Rheinland lawful called Max.Mustermann and a Miner called MS-Salzkammer. It totally depends on you how your different ships are called.

Everything is fine as long as you don`t come up with mine4u))))).

just spent the last hour now reading in on the wiki.

With certain ID's say, Lib Rogue or LSF do you HAVE to stay in Liberty area? or can the rogues go where they like and the LSF have to stay in Liberty?
