Check the infocard for Freeport 5, you'll see what I mean mein freund...;). Didn't base this on just one vanilla wreck...
As for if/when Dresden falls, that'll take a while yet. Perhaps there's another, as of yet undiscovered way into that system? Perhaps Kruger will establish a playerbase there? Perhaps Rheinland will invest in a jump gate leading to Omega 15? Jump holes can be moved, created, removed after all - system files will have to be touched anyway in order to reset base affiliations.

Actually we have rumors + infocards of Gas clouds and Gas miner Ogashawa in sigma-19 that Kishiro also have their mining activities.
Also from map that Igiss showed us Kusari get + 2 systems... if you don't want to add another mining commodity to Nagano.. add it to that other system(Rishiri).
+ after last stement from GMG... Kishiro no longer have exclusive rights to move H-fuel.. so they may start to mine it by themselfs no?
Wait, New Cambria and New Anglia are being dropped from the release? Does that mean they'll be released later, or that they've been scrapped? They were the 2 systems that I was looking forward to the most (apart from the Gallic Core Worlds).

They'll probably be released at a later time, once there's time for a systems dev to properly prepare them.
As for Kishiro, I've pegged their leadership on skype to bounce off some ideas (did that for all the house mining factions actually) but so far haven't gotten a response. But since I only started on this two days ago, there isn't a huge rush.

Not really. I've been talking to the leaders of the mining factions to bounce off some ideas for good ways to create contested mining zones. Response has been good thus far, and I've got a good idea on where I want to place the various minable zones. I've been drawing general areas on the system map on where specific resources can spawn. Kinda like zones of influence for ore. That way the zones can be moved around a bit and still be kept consistent.
Next step is to determine the proper places for dropoff. Primarily this would be industrialized systems or dedicated spaceborne smelting facilities (such as Dortmund and Stokes). I intend for all houses to be able to receive all cargo - naturally, embargoes and wars drive up prices. To do this properly I'm reviewing a complete dump of all infocards and crossreferencing where the materials are mentioned, to determine where demand would be. This process is taking quite some time, but it's the only way to prevent nonsensical dropoff sites.
Kusari is rather easy, they transfer goods from outside factions at the clearinghouses Roppongi, Narita and Deshima almost exclusively.
Liberty has it's primary smelting done at Denver, Houston and Pittsburgh.
Bretonia has Leeds as it's most industrialized system, with both Stokes and the planet receiving goods.
Rheinland is the most troublesome, as it has production sites and smelters all over the place: Dortmund, The Ring, Munich, Leipzig... and the new refinery at Wuppertal.
Gallia... is a headache that I've yet to deal with. Producing 6 commodities may make importing troublesome. If I set the Gallic fields active, GMS doesn't have a reason to leave home. If I set them disabled, activity in the Gallic core worlds will be significantly less (face it, mining draws pirates and traders, and mercs as well). For now I'm leaning to having the fields active but sparse, signifying that Gallia, like Rheinland before the nomad wars, has stripmined it's resources and converted all rocks into battleships.
As for Kishiro, Friday explained to me how they have their own mining activities in Sigma 19, so they will be getting a Helium3 bonus, and a few of the gas miners in Sig19 will be owned by Kishiro. We'll see how that works out.
Work is progressing. I'm sinking a lot of time in this because I want to get it right the first time. Bound to fail in that but it'll be close (sun).

I'm not sure if I've asked you about it before, but could you put sell-points for every ore in every house? It's not inconceivable that each house would need these materials, and I wouldn't see a problem with significantly lower prices for the sake of trade balance.
... please read my above post completely Echo. I already noted there that that was my intent.:P

Continuing work on the mining mod. Most of the Sirian side is now done in terms of assigning fields. Omega 15 gets new fields. Humboldt too - I reworked that system a bit as it had next to no NPCs - and both systems get a rather murderous NPC population, to prevent folks from getting in there with all-mining turret heges. Tau 23 yields will be significantly less then the Tau 37 ones for niobium. Tau 23 Beryllium will be higher then Cambridge. Hopefully this'll encourage GMS versus Outcasts activity.
Kishiro gets a few gas mining fields in Sigma 19, as per lore. Samura gets theirs in Hokkaido. GMG gets fields in Sigma 13, Sigma 19 and Okinawa. Might need to revise the yields on those, for now they're set to the standard 1 to 5 drops.
I'm still not entirely sure what to do with Gallia. I'll probably set the fields active in the game mod, but deactivate them through the miningmod configuration so the Gallic folks have to go hunt ore in Sirius.
Scrap mining also needs a bit of a revision still. Getting there:)

Don't deactivate them entirely. Give them low yields.
