A tall figure walks into the bar. One look and you can tell he ain't from around here, in fact, you could say he looks Gallic. An overdressed young man, wearing a top hat and a suit, brandishing a what seems to be a wooden walking stick. The minute he walks into the bar, he is instantly the centre of attention.
"A Bordeaux please."
The Bartender looked at his quizzically.
"You know? Bordeaux? Red wine? Bottle?"
The Bartender shakes his head.
The Gallic lets out a heavy sigh.
"Fine. Get me whatever it is you have here."
Bad move. The bartender hands him a glass of Liberty Ale.
A man in that appeared to be in his early 30's entered the bar puffing on a cigar. He wore a duster coat and dark shirt underneath that with simple jeans and sneakers. His eyes appeared to be dark and mysterious. He didn't make eye contact with anyone in the bar, including the 'tender. He simply looked to the bar table and ordered his drink: a traditional Jack and Coke.
He kept his head down and the collar on his cloak pulled up so that only the middle of his head and up were visible. His eyes showed a hint of a blue glow but no one looked directly at him. He sipped his drink and continued to stare at the bar.
"Troubles?" the 'tender asked.
"None that concern you or this bar. I won't be any trouble, 'tender. I simply needed a drink after the events of today. It's not every day you come back from the dead." the man replied.
"Aye. I can see you had a bad day. I'll leave ya be then."
The man reached out and gently caught the 'tender's shirt."Wait." said the man. The 'tender turned to look at the patron."Can you tell me where to locate some people? People from the old group Children of Conviction that used to operate out of this station?"
The bartender scoffed."Son, that group has long been absent from Sirius. Last I heard their leader died in a battle with an AI ship somewhere in the Omicrons. Though, that's just speculation and rumor...the rest of the group sort of just moved on. Filtered into society, died off, disappeared, etc."
The man hummed to himself."Thanks 'tender."he said and placed a tip on the counter. The bartender grabbed the tip, nodded, and went back to his duties.
"Where the hell are you guys?"The man said to himself quietly. His eyes gradually beginning to dimly glow a blue color."...and why are none of you answering my comms?"
The man casually looked around the bar from behind his collar at the other patrons, seeing if anyone else might know the whereabouts of his lost comrades.

Bryan had successfully off loaded another coupple of crates of Malta's finest orange dream to some hopeless, brainless fool down by the docks. Well, at least that's what the foolish drug mule thought had happened. Little did he realize that only the presentation bag held the genuine article. The rest of the crates was nothing more then some baking soda and some stuff to give it just the right texture and colour. Each crate also contained trace ammounts of a rare radioactive isotope used specifically to track the movements of each load. He was a gonner, that much was evident. His buyers on Manhattan were sure to off him as soon as the rest of his merchandise was tested. But Bryan was more interested in how the stuff was getting through customs, and such was his mission.
Bryan enters the bar and takes a seat at one of the empty tables. Tonight was a celebration of sorts, but was also a chance to unwind, to be relaxed and ready for the next part of his plan...
Hannah had come to a dead end, there was nothing for her to do, no jobs for her to complete. Walking into the bar she tried to keep a straight face. She knew this was the place to pick up cheap dates and links to 'organised crime'. Freelancers couldn't be trusted, and she hated that her ship was still using Freelancer identification papers. In all fairness, it is the easiest way to travel without being noticed, and that is what she needs for now - at least until she becomes more accustomed to fighting in a ship.
"I really don't know why I do this to myself sometimes...."
She put on a slight smile and walked up to the bar, ordering an orange juice with lemon-aid. No drinking was one of her rules. Her rules were made to be kept. Alcohol made people do stupid things, made them too trustworthy and trigger happy. Looking around, she took a seat in a darker corner hoping she wasn't noticed by too many people. Sighing, she realised after killing the cop, this would probably be the safest place - short of a freeport - in Sirius.
"I'm sure I've seen him around before."
Hannah watched Bryan and took a sip of her drink.
"Maybe not... I wonder if he will be foolish enough to tell me something...."
She cautiously watched some of the other people in the bar for a bit longer, weighing up her options and eventually deciding to stay put at the corner table.
Long red hair, beautiful eyes, there was no chance of Bryan failing to notice her. "She looks like trouble." he thought as he took a sip from his beer. Not that she would need red hair to be noticed, since Bryan had already noticed that the waitress was left handed, the tall guy at the bar had a cybernetic leg hidden underneath his long trousers and the shy outcast lad in the opposite corner was starting to twitch, like his cardi inhaler was running low. He was observant by nature, his blessing and his curse.
Another look at her, then another sip of his beer. Finally starring back at her yet again, he noticed that she was still seated by herself and diddn't appear to be waiting for anyone.
"Probably not a smart idea, but you never know. She might have some info for me. Besides, she looks bored" Bryan's thoughts made him chuckle slightly.
He looked back over at Hannah, this time not looking away. With a half finnished beer in one hand, Bryan stood up and walked over to her table.
She was bored, even after only just arriving. Bars and pubs didn't do anything for her. The sooner she got this done and finished, the better it would be for everyone. There really didnt look to be anyone of interest here, and she was considering leaving."The name's Bryan, mind if I join you?". Really? she thought to herself before shrugging.
"I guess so, the seats empty, I'm Stephany""
She kept a straight face when telling him the name, hesitation was the one way to get caught out on a 'lie'. She was past the point of making simple mistakes like that. Taking another sip of her drink, she watched him sit, trying to get a 'feel' for who he was. She came up with nothing. Strange, almost like he has something to hide... She shook her head after the thought, remembering where she was.
Bryan sat down at the empty chair opposite Stephany, and took another sip of his beer, maintaining constant eye contact.
"What brings you here?"
"Cheap drinks, and no rules!"Bryan replied, "And always a chance you'll meet someone new and interesting" Bryan let himself smile, appearing as though the relaxed atmosphere of the West wing pub had made its impression upon him. Calm and relaxed, which was true for both himself, and his cover ID.
"And what brings you here, my dear?"Bryan asked, with biggest smirk he could manage.
Hannah smirked at the cheep drinks comment. Plus one for me, give him a few more and he will be open to anything... She pretend to be interested in what he was saying, when in reality she wasn't. He was a nice looking guy, but she had decided some different clothes would make him look nicer. Realising he asked a question she shrugged.
"Needed a break from the madness. I'm sure you know how people get sometimes."
She smiled, that wasn't a lie. As well as looking for a lead to something to keep her occupied in the way of work, she did need some time away. As much as she hated the bar, she appreciated the socialising. It made her feel almost like a normal person again. Almost being the key word. I need to relax, hes just another man. I wont ever see him again after I leave this place.
"So, I'm guessing your not from around these parts, well, Barrier anyway."
She bit her lip and brushed a strand of hair away from her eyes while waiting for his answer. It was all second nature to her now, she didn't even realise she was doing it.
