My primary input device since ~1990 has been a Kensington track ball. Not the best thing for gaming but after 20+ years I know how to use it. Anyway my last one started giving problems a few days ago so I am back on a wireless mouse for the time being. Buttons 3/4/5 are all different from what I was using so having to remap my controls. WHERE IS THE BUTTO...dead
And then this morning my Samsung widescreen decides it doesnt want to power up all the way (LCD is just flickering), so I had to dig out the 1280x1024 HP panel. Argh a third of the screen is gone... and response time is slower so there is lots of ghosting.
Glad I had the parts but man this is like trying to play on somebody else's budget rig
Ursus that happend to my Horison 27" widescreen once...refused to start and when it did start it was flickering and died...thats a common problem with lcd's but its very easy to fix...most of them dont have fused components and are rather made up by modules...cannot translate the exact word but is somewhere close to "ignition" module...just go with it on a tv repair shop and ask the guy to replace your module (most likely it got fried) and its quite cheap....paid 10 - 20 punds (cant remember exactly) for mine and the lcd was 200 punds (i am using england curency as a reference). It will take max 1 hour...he will open the casing and simply remove the old module and replace it.
Edit:or mabe is not fried at all...beiing plastic mostly and the heat nowdays...it could just slided and dosent make good connection...try to gently hit you lcd mabe that will shock it in its place
Buy Dell Monitors- it solves all the problems that you might have.
I haven't seen any dead even after 10 years usage and their IPS panels are sweet- not super fast but fast enough not to make the difference. TN or PLS are jokes really same as low grade Samsung Monitors- their expensive ones are good.

Interestingly, a lot of monitors and other electronic are made in the same plant and just put in different cases.
Next time you go into a electronics shop, have a close look at some of the gear and you will see some stuff that looks exactly the same..... except for the labeling.
Of course this is not the case for everything, just a few brands.
Asus screens are good by the way, mine hasn't missed a beat since I bought it.
