i think i said it in a previous thread about that mod.

- the models are VERY well done... BUT ( and its a big "but" )
- it would be more honest and fairer to display them in a way that freelancer displays them - not in such a shiny way - the freelancer engine cannot display such sharp images in such a clear contrast. - its also not capable for object shadows and all the other dx9+ shader effects. ( not genuinly anyway )
- almost all the models are still not skinned. - unskinned stuff tends to have a clinical and sophisticated look ( think of an utterly white room, it is a piece of art in itself - but start to move stuff in - and it becomes "normal" )

- some of the models have a striking familiarity in design to disco models - not a problem, just an observation ( similarity to the LABC - the current one... )

- to make a mod "great" - it takes more than models. - models are just skindeep. - they are even less than that, they are just the make-up on top.

- to make a mod great, it needs substance.... and --- players. the way to get players is a funny way - usually you need players to get players. if the mod wants to be great, it ll need to offer something that others cannot offer, or offer something that others successfully offer - but in a MUCH better quality.
- that means... if you offered roleplay, it wouldn t be the models that are required so much, but a team of dedicated game masters and admins ... along with a large community

To compound on what Jinx said, one thing just about all of the current new mods are missing is good texturers. Continuum in particular suffers from a bad case of 'no texturers, but insanely detailed models'.

So, I hope they'll get it released, but I have my doubts.

That's what people said about Discovery.

ps: I happen to be an associate of Continuum.

[color=#FF99FF]You are indeed correct. Continuum is led by a former Discovery player.

From a glance on their moddb page, it would appear that they have support from CrossFire developers.

Whats the difference between textures and details?
