Possibility #1 - Have official target traders. In other words, traders who volunteer to be the official targets for the events, and these would be the only ones that can be pirated for . They can log who successfully pirates them, and for what quantities etc, thus giving you your stats. This is, as far as I can see, the only way to ensure that cheating is avoided.
a suggestion as a fix might be hire a few guys and you dont gotta pay em to much but give em camra ships one per pirate/group of pirate and have them take pics of all the traders that their respective pirate gets.
well most probably the cheaters transports would get pirated before hand n then the cheaters will be left with nothing and then rage quit because all cheaters are rage quitters:D
' Wrote:I don't see much of a discussion here.
I critize the event because it is an open hunt on traders with the aim of getting as much cargo as possible from them, which in the end means either pirating for all cargo or destroying them. I'm seriously getting tired of you starting the same old discussion again and again, if you got no better arguments, then please don't respond to my posts, because this is only borderline trolling.
Events which bring activity are nice, but events which probably lead to even more horrendous demands is not going to be fun for everyone. If the event was about "who can pirate the most while only pirating for 1 million credits" or something like that - that would at least assure the traders aren't totally abused, but still I don't see, that an event is necessary to increase pirate's activity. A competition of "what lawful (house military or police) can shoot the most pirates" would be needed more here. But heh, doubt I would support that either.
The event itself had plenty of restrictions for the pirates to not make every trader cry and run to their momma. This event had the goal of getting the corsairs out of gamma and into the rest of the ZOI.
' Wrote:Some clarification, would it be just "the most units of cargo collected" or more of "the most profit from cargo pirated."
Either way the Renegades would probably join in this. Don't know why I didn't see this thread earlier...
Also: Is there a prize?
It was based on cargo units, not on most profit. To much administrative work otherwise involved
Sorry the idea was aimed at corsairs only, once we've tried it out feel free to copy it to other factions. It had to have some RP background to justify why a faction would call for a competition. If I would have made this open to everyone it coulnt be an RP based event but just a competition between groups that could very well be COMPLETLY hostile to each other.
The event is on hold because of lack of large scale trade activity in the proposed ZOI as well as various other difficulties that would take a lot of effort to overcome in a short timespan.
