Wouldn't it be easier to simply use a different server for PvP instead of Conn? There are several servers running the Disco mod and it would make our lives easier if Conn would be removed from RP 24/7

Hm, I can understand that people like being able to test setups, to test ships, skill etc. in Conn every now and then. It doesn't seem necessary to remove Connecticut, the system is not being overused, even though it gets a lot of action. For the occasional little pew pew break it's quite nice.

So, no, I'm against removing it. I'm for making access to it easier. But maybe limit how many players can be there at one time...

I think preventing any caps from "going to conn" would be a good thing, with the exception of those who contact the law first. I can't tell you how many caps have suddenly been "going to conn" when the law shows up with superior firepower. Rheinland BSs taking detours to shoot down mercenaries because they're killing Republican in Texas, for example. Another would be an RF Argus escorting an ore miner through California.

Seriously, crack down on them. The time has come to do so. And I would say that on Skype, but installing skype on my mother's netbook is probably not the best idea.

Summary: Want to go to Conn? Ask. Don't want to ask? Risk getting shot.

The easiest solution to all this has already been suggested now and then.
Make a command to warp you to conn which only wirks when you're docked and have no cargo. and a command to send you back where you came from, also remove the conn JH.
I don't know, but i'm almost sure that it wouldn't a lot of work and it'd finally put an end to this whole thing.

I think this is not the right place to start such a discussion here again, since the possibilities of abuse have already been pointed out.

As for me I can only agree with a short message, if it is needed in system channel, to let others know one is going to Connecticut. But there are also some people who think they can exploit that message and move somewhere to pwn others. So the thing about caps moving to or from Conn is pretty unsure and not safe, people tend to exploit, like we all know.

I think keeping battleships ready to let the cap weapons of the lolwuts shut up and prevent unnecessary 4 hours restrictions is one of many solutions.

Connecticut is RP, an arena system under mutual treaty. Special commands break the RP fiction. Special commands also make the game more rigid and harder to learn.

Move the entry points to neutral territory, and refuse access to ships with any cargo. That is still RP and solves the problems

If you wanna shut the constant flow of OORP ships through liberty which are going to conn without removing conn, than that's the only way. And there's no possibily to abuse it, if you'd care to read my post again and this time have a look at the requirements.
But if you don't want this then stop whining, because there's NO WAY everyone's gonna know that you're moving to conn, no matter what you do :rtfm:
