The first update for Discovery Freelancer 4.86 : Exiles has been released today. The update will be downloaded and installed automatically when you start Freelancer.

The last 48 hours has been very hard but the development team are making progress in resolving the issues. A major server stability issue related to mission spawning and path finding has been found and fixed. One jumphole between Honshu and Okinawa has been removed and 3 jumpholes from Burgundy have been removed and all path finding data regenerated to fix this issue.

The issue above was the cause of the 85%-95% of the crashes the server has experienced. At its worst the server crashed at least 150 times in 24 hours. The server will still crash but hopefully much less frequently.

This update includes other minor changes including:
- Model and hardpoint fixes for 5 ships.
- Market updates to fix bugs
- ID updates to correct cargo allowance mistakes and fix typos.
- Fixes for shipdealers in Zeta, Skye and Nimes.
- Fixes for Poole bases appearing as "unknown stations"
- Fixes for NPC loadout errors.

There are other serious issues that are not fixed in this update. The developers are working to resolve these as quickly as possible.

The release status for the mod remains beta trial and it will be this way for 2-3 weeks. The previous announcement did not make the release status clear. The person responsible for this oversight has been given a stern talking to. When questioned he is reported to have muttered something about new year eve parties, beer and hang overs.

For the first time since the upgrade to 4.86, the server ran for 2 hours and 30 minutes without crashing. There have been a number of server side patches to achieve this and this update should significantly improve the stability. However, please note that the server will still crash.

Please note that the development team are reading your bug reports. Most are finding there way into the issue tracking system.

The team's priorities are:
- Server stability
- Client stability
- Lost ships and login issues
- IDs and tech-compatibilty
- Everything else.

If you have NOT DOWNLOADED AND INSTALLED Discovery Freelancer 4.86 then

Please read the instructions and download and install it. You can not upgrade an existing 4.85 installation.

If the automatic update does not work, the update can be downloaded manually from here. Unzip the contents of this directory inside your Freelancer installation.

That's all for now.

Have fun!

Check the cmp files, without loading it it is clear to see the P train and the mining ships.
