Amen to that. I've been patrolling around, and so far only found one Valor. :/
As for Zelot's post... Well, the conclusion I've reached from watching the treaty document and hearing about the negotiating is that you're going to refuse to agree to anything that disadvantages your faction in any way whatsoever, no matter how logical it is.
The BAF's not going to shoot you unless you provoke them or you start it, so there's that. But a treaty is required, and it isn't going to be the one sided handwave you're hoping for. At the end of the day, the Ronin are considered war criminals inRP and are going to have to make concessions to be accepted.
You're disliked, living out of our pocket and squatting in our yard. It makes sense to live by our house rules, yes? It's not like we're demanding you surrender the Emperor for arrest / execution. (I can even post the proposed treaty here so people can see what you have your misgivings about, if you want?)

We want them to:
1) Renounce their claims to Tau 31 and Bretonian systems and abide by our laws - we're not going to let them live if they invade us again the moment they (if they) get the throne back.
2) Assist us against the GRN / Gallia in Bretonia and the Taus - self explanatory and the only reason the Ronin were created.
3) Renounce all ties with Bretonian unlawful organisations unless it'll harm Gallia - ties neatly into point one, really. We're not going to help them survive if they're assisting Gaians, Corsairs, Hogsha, etc raid our space.

See, again, you are going to tell me, oorp what is required from my faction so that you will play along with the storyline, and let us play along with the storyline, and thats not ok. I am going to say one last time, a treaty is not required, it already exists, if you want one, you folks better take a different tact. On that note, not a single person from the Bretonian government has spoken to me about this. I was given a link by west to a proposed treaty, I put my own proposal in the document, that's all I have had to do with any treaty or negotiations. So come and talk to me if you want, but if someone says again, "this is what we are going to require of you" I will be done considering it at all.

Well, I guess at least we're not losing the war in that respect. I've seen at most, 2 GRN players, both were bombers, they seem to be fond of them.
But hey, at least you know how BAF felt for the last few years in terms of the activity of our enemies. Let's hope GRN doesn't turn into another [KNF] and we're all bored out of our minds. Granted, I'd not be too surprised if they felt a little outnumbered, Ronin' popularity not helping.
I can't help but think Ronin are going to be more popular than KNF. Also, I noticed a Kusari Battlecruiser trying to become a Ronin, based on RP, would that not be a bit farfetched? Infact, any large number of caps would be completely unthinkable.
Edit: I notice you have the Battlecruiser on your ship list, some restriction would seem sensible, no? Caps on the whole should arguably by heavily restricted, you are not a fleet anymore, more like a flotilia.

So why did it take 8 sections to lay out those three points. Aside from that, the Ronin arent a government, they have no claims to any territory, so thats a moot point isnt it. The storyline tells us we are helping defend Bretonia, so thats moot, but it's the third that I am worried about, since you know, I can foresee a ronin ship sitting next to a Gaian ship in Newcastle leading to an FR5.
All that said, there was much more in the proposal than that.

INRP we have only 4 BSes (2 staitonar) 1 Satsuam, 9 destroyers, 1 BC with 15 gunboats and crapload of Snubs (not sure how many... but enough for little army)
All indie BC and Dessies is something we are trying to get rid of. Especially from BCs. Only today I saw 3 dessies and 2 bcs trying to re-rep into ronins.. "becase they can"
We already asked to remove Cruisers from ID.. or change it to Dessie only... will see how it's gonna work.

Yes, only 1 max could be present in that group.. I'm planing to get 2 more.. how you will gonna see soon.

If you look at the storyline, the numbers of ships involved are fairly specifically laid out, we intent to stick to those numbers religiously within the faction. Not really much we can do about indies in that respect.
' Wrote:Well then fine, I will suggest to Cannon, that we have something very bad happen to the Ronin, as well as consequences to the Bretonians, such as losing the Leeds system, probably more, and we can just say the storyline doesn't matter anymore and there is no way Bretonia can accept the Exiles as anything other than slaves, which the Exiles weren't willing to accept, so they fought each other and Gallia used the opportunity to rape them both. We could go back the original plan for 486 and have Gallia parked on top of Planet New London.
This is not constructive to the discussion in any way. It is anger and sarcasm. Zelot, for the most part you are right about the Ronin and their position in Bretonia. You are also right to question what negotiating a treaty now would mean and what someone else might force your faction into.
Now that it has been established that the treaty described in the lore is valid and I've stated that I agree with that, let's take a step back and look at what is really going on here. There is another faction here that had RP handed to them. I've heard you complain about that more times than I can count in the past. I'm not saying that what you are doing with the Ronin is wrong, I'm saying that it might be helpful to take just a minute and think about how other players might feel about this. You are the leader of the Ronin and you participated in righting the lore on which you are falling back. How much input was given by the players in Bretonia? Were they even consulted? It probably would not have changed anything as I think you are on the right track, but it might help them to feel that they are contributing to their own faction's RP and that it matters how they feel about it.
I think they have a legitimate complaint about having something forced on them without their input, even if it is a valid story. Responding back to their complaints with anger and sarcasm doesn't help, it just rubs salt in the wounds.
