Rote Hessen Armee Rauða Hesse Hersins - ᚱᛟᛏᛖ ᚺᛖᛋᛋᛖᚾ ᚨᚱᛗᛖᛖ
Synopsis - Samantekt
The Red Hessians are a loosely grouped organization of Rheinland workers and miners who have fallen on hard times and taken to a life of rebellion and piracy. They constantly struggle to carve out their own realm against the gluttonous Rheinland corporations. As it stands, the current Rheinland government is weak to the point of being under the near-total control of three massive and shady corporations in the homeland: Daumann Heavy Construction, Kruger Mining, and Republican Shipping.
While the typical Red Hessian has the reputation of a pirate or brigand with nothing but personal gain in mind, the leaders of the Red Hessian Army have not lost sight of their goals: resisting the corporate oppression of Daumann and Kruger, implementing Hessian views on society and government, establishing a recognisable presence in the Omega sector and finally freeing Rheinland from the choking grip of its deceitful government.
But the challenges faced are far greater than just that. These same leaders constantly struggle to keep in line a sense of wrath and retribution, where former miners and exiled criminals alike fight hand in hand against their common foes, coached further by the prevalent revolutionary propaganda and the deadly realities of the deeper Omega systems, to hate their enemies with a unique kind of passion. While the Red Hessian Army still fights for a seemingly good cause, the methods in their employ can only be described as terrifying.

The fate of Valhalla
Although being the third largest unlawful group in Sirius, the Red Hessian movement is not much older than a hundred years. It originated around 700 A.S. from the ashes of the Popular Revolution after the Rheinland industrial machine finally crumbled from the eighty years of strain and war time economy. Rheinland companies on the edge of collapse pushed their workers more and more, even though the massive inflation made it unable for them to pay wages. Revolts fueled by the populist Bundschuh party started taking over, and Rheinland was forced to sign several pacts with Liberty in order to save the economy. The currency became worthless overnight, and the majority of the corporations declared bankruptcy.
The Revolution finally took place after mining stations in Dresden were seized by enraged miners, and the system slowly spiralled out of Rheinland control. With the Bundschuh delivering supplies to the striking workers and Rheinland's mineral resources being effectively held hostage, the government finally agreed to hold a meeting with the representatives of the working class. Three weeks from the beginning of the revolt on Von Rohe's Day, the Bundschuh political leaders legally walked into the Reichstag on New Berlin for the first time since the creation of the movement. Surrounded by prominent revolutionary figures and common miners, the people gathered there signed the document abolishing imperial rule and electing a democratic government. It was a breakthrough, many laws were declared to keep worker abuse to a minimum and wages to a respectable level. New economic plans and subsidies for foreign companies halted the inflation that wrecked the currency, and Rheinland slowly began to rebuild.
A few years later the democratic government was a mockery. Corruption raged unchecked as the formed political parties continued to sell themselves out to foreign companies and rich manipulators, with the only opposition being the Bundschuh. Eventually a rigged and setup vote was passed, and the Bundschuh were once again outlawed from the Rheinland government and forced to go underground. Outraged at this course of events, large groups of workers abandoned their posts in Dresden in an attempt to restart the Revolution by once again disrupting the mining industry. They attracted lots of followers: compatriots, victims of the arising gluttony and abuse of the new major players in the mining industry, defectors from the Rheinland Military and the government itself as well as simple people with nothing to go back to after losing everything to the economic crash. This attempt however did not go so well. The people of Rheinland, being effectively disinformed by the new government, did not jump out in support this time around. The miners were left without a heavy handed hammer to force the needed change with, and were brought down to piracy and attacking transports to prevent the corporate cargo from reaching it's destination. As time moved on, they constructed large bases in various nebulae or asteroid fields close to major trade routes in order to attack transports quickly and efficiently. They also changed from a small group of revolutionaries to a major unlawful group in Sirius, dealing in stolen corporate goods to keep their movement running and expanding their influence into the uncharted Omega sector and further towards Bretonia. This inevitably put them at odds with the ever-oppressive and expansive Corsairs and eventually sparked one of the bloodiest persisting conflicts in Sirius, very much rivaling the Outcast-Corsair war.
Vogtland Station 825 A.S.
Close to a century of strife and conflict later the Red Hessians were embroiled in a stalemate on all fronts. Support in Rheinland was wailing with the progress of the reactionary forces stalled, aside from stopping the Corsair advance into Stuttgart and severely hurting their operations in Omega-3 and Omega-7. The ideological element finally decided to act. A structure for an organisation within an organisation was formed, a militarised and disciplined group with good funding and a heavy handed approach, enough to mire even the brute force of the Rheinland Military. New ship designs were drafted specifically for use of the Army, and a specific modus operandi was created. Founded by Admiral Heinrich Kessler, the Army was dedicated to taking control of Rheinland territory and holding the line in the Omega sector. With funds acquired primarily from whatever spoils the rest of the Red Hessians would manage to bring in as well as anonymous donations from all across Sirius, the Red Hessian Army could completely focus on eradicating threats to house Rheinland - including the Rheinland government itself. In the hard times of 817 A.S., Rheinland is led by a corporate fascist dictatorship in the hands of a madman. The opposing movements of the Fatherland rally, as the Unioners return to the fold, leaving the Red Hessian Army as always at the edge of any attack against the oppressive government. With much outside support and an extensive supply ring, the movement began to wage a guerilla offensive against the Rheinland Military, both the regulars as well as the Nomad infested force hiding in the deep Omega systems. All this amidst a never-ending absolute war against the terrible and murderous Corsair threat. Being at the forefront of the most battle hardened Hessian veterans, it is up to the Army to spearhead the assaults.
UPDATE - APRIL 825 A.S.
Following a series of assassination attempts on all members if the Oberkommando, the Army has since lost control of the civilian population and several fleet assets. Shipments of Blood Diamonds have been disorganized - destabilizing the Army's financial platform. Despite the precision of these attempts, many members of the Oberkommando survived including the Generalmajor. The fortress of Wiesbaden has been damaged, leaving the brutal atmosphere of the planet to hold down and injure the Generalmajor and her Guard. With the facility cut off from all other outposts due to its secretive nature, the Generalmajor has only recently managed to resurface and establish contact with remaining Brigadegenerals within the Army.
Since the re-establishment, the Army has taken a very different approach to slowly regain numerical and financial power over the Volksrevolution and its enemies. The Army has since stopped engaging in military action against the Federal presence and Rheinland temporarily, only discreetly targeting corporate assets. The Omega war is now the forefront of the Army's efforts militarily, the bulk of the Army's resources are dedicated to using the environment of the Omegas to maintain what grip they still cling to. With the impending catastrophe in Omega-11, the Army has begun to dig in and defend Dresden with all it's available effort. Now bottle-necking the entrance from Imperial Controlled Omicron territory, the Army hopes to defend the area long enough to regain control and re-build what military assets it lost.
In order to regain public control without compromising the faith of the people in their leaders, the Oberkommando has shifted the blame of sudden instability to the overpopulation of Vogtland; and the sudden nomad incursion within the Omega territories.
UPDATE - AUGUST 825 A.S.
With trade reset and alliances falling back in place, the Army has begun to take it's eyes off the Omega territories temporarily in pursuit of it's original goal - the liberation of Dresden. Following the push north into the Sigmas by the Rheinland military, the Red Hessian Army has taken the time to catch it's breath, re-organizing and planning to capitalize on what could be a crucial moment in Sirius history. The Union -following it's failure to make a statement against the Army and it's lack of cooperation with the Corsair Empire- has re-alinged itself into the fold of the Volksrevolution in the hopes of ridding Rheinland once and for all of the Corsair Empire - a force that has begun to trespass into the Heart Hessian territory.
Meanwhile, with efforts on the Western front coming to a halt, and the Army's distaste for the conflict with the Kingdom of Bretonia. The two communities have agreed to cease all hostilities with one another for the benefit of trade and potential cooperation against the Corsair Empire.
The Spezialoperationsabteilung (Department of Special Operations) or SOA is a relatively small group within the RHA founded by Director Fridrich Dresner. It has been commissioned in 816 A.S. on the eve of the declaration of cooperation between the Sirius Coalition Revolutionary Army and the Rheinland Revolutionary Alliance, in order to support the Coalition in their research and development. The department was since called to assume command over RHA anti-Nomad operations as well as unconventional warfare operations, including (but not limited to) espionage and funding foreign revolutionary groups.
Currently the main task of the SOA is research into specialist warfare against Wilde mind control in an attempt to immunise all Hessian and allied forces to the effects of Wilde psychic weapons, hoping to reduce significantly the amount of victims the Wilde use as cannon fodder against the Hessian forces in the Omega systems. The SOA has notably been able to strike significant breakthroughs in research around the start of 817 A.S., however an intelligence leak allowed the then Outcast Reapers of Sirius to react to the situation, and a large part of the research was destroyed in a Reaper attack against the Hessian convoy carrying the goods to Omega-52. The repercussions of this attack can be felt in the Red Hessian Army to this day, with the leadership emphasizing complete awareness of and pre-emptive hostility toward any Outcasts that might be encountered by the movement. As of this day, the SOA continues their work on recovering the lost research as well as trying to gain new information on Wilde weapons and abilities.
The SOA has since set up its main laboratories and facilities on planet Tangier in the Omega-47 system, the laboratories look nearly identical to the mining facilities on the planet. The planet's vile weather conditions serve as an excellent mask for the operations that occurred on Planet Tangier. With blazing hot conditions and excessive amounts of tremors and volcano eruptions by day and snap freezing temperatures with howling winds by night the SOA operated nearly limitless with little interference. However, planet Tangier lacked a functioning docking ring for larger vessels to land and acquire supplies, or to deliver large amounts of troops which proved nearly fatal in some situations. During 818 A.S. a massive contamination outbreak rendered two of the SOA's facilities in total lockdown, with only the planet's garrison to assist them, none the less the situation was contained. Currently the SOA continues their efforts on Planet Tangier while keeping close ties with the SCRA and studying the nomads.
Following the assassination attempt on Direktor Draay, he has since crash landed on the nomad infested Planet Tangier aboard the RHC-Yggdrasil. With the Yggdrasil's communication systems damaged, and the airspace and perimeter infested with nomads combating SOA response garrisons; Draay has been unable to re-establish contact with the Oberkommando until recently. Now taking back control, the Direktor rigorously pursues answers for the sudden assassination attempt in combination with the nomad outbreak.
Zone of Influence - Áhrifssvæði
Dresden
The birthplace of the Red Hessian movement, as well as the base that houses the bulk of the Hessian population, Vogtland. The system also links to Omega-11, Omega-54, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, and Omega-55 making it a strategically valuable system that the RHA takes extreme measures to keep under control.
Valhalla (Omega-11) [SYSTEM LOST UNDER NATURAL DISASTER]
Rich with diamonds from the state of the Red Giant in the system, the hazardous conditions and lack of federal influence make it an easy means of cutting off Daumann shipping lines to Stuttgart from Solarious. The Hessians can also utilize the field and mine diamonds themselves for an exorbitant income. The state of Omega-11 has served as a means for the Red Hessian Army to cripple the Daumann corporation's mining operations.
Fólkvangr (Omega-5)
The largest warzone in the Omega systems, several pilots from the SCRA, RHA, and Corsair Empire have been slaughtered in the seemingly endless stalemate to control the system. The system contains strategically significant jumphole connenctions linking to Bretonia, Southern and eastern Omega systems. Everything that moves in this system ends up either dead or captured within seconds.
Jötunheimr (Omega-54)
The secret training ground for the RHA and the SOA, as well as containing Wolfsberg shipyard where the Hessian warships are constructed and sent off to the Omegas or too the front lines. Planet Wiesbaden holds the secret Quarters where the Generalmajor resides and a meeting place for the RHA Oberkommando. The system has been kept hidden, and the jumphole connections too it are closely guarded by both SOA agents and extreme environmental hazards. Any and all trespassers are either detained and tortured or killed.
Muspelheim (Omega-47)
With Casablanca base in near ruin from the constant battle for control over the station the RHA has tightened their grip on the system. Battleship Kassel serves as a safeguard for the system. The SOA operates at large in the system with their HQ being located on Planet Tangier as well as several of their facilities. With the SOA operating with near limitless power in the Omegas, most of the trespassers regardless of affiliation are killed without question for entering the system.
Vanaheimr (Omega-2)
Following the supernova within the Valhalla system, the Army has rushed to discover a new source of diamonds and minerals to meet the demands of their now baseless blood diamonds and unrefined diamonds. The Omega-2 system was the answer, bearing no significant outposts or any presence from any other groups, the Army has begun streamlining mining assets to the system in the hopes of meeting the ever-rising demand for blood diamonds. While the system is certainly useful for that purpose alone, the S.O.A has begun to take an interest in the two planets within the system for a more rapid form of resource extraction.
Niflheim (Omega-7)
With Muspelheim under near total control by both the S.O.A subdivision and the Army, Battleship Kassel has begun to move within the Niflheim system in the hopes of serving as a staging ground against the high corporate presence in the system. The Battleship prowls about deep within the Walker Nebula, claiming victim to anyone unfortunate enough to close in on it.

The below link contains all necessary information regarding Red Hessian activities, diplomacy and procedures. All Red Hessians, mainline forces and raider forces alike, should get accustomed to the information within this manual.
By being accepted into the ranks of Red Hessian Army, you will now fly under the color of volksrevolution and fight for a better Rheinland - One free of the claws of Kanzler, and safe from any threats be it foreign or domestic. e.g. Corsairs, Liberty, Marinenachrichtendienst -, and for so to become possible, you'll need to be in full coordination with rest of the volksrevolution troops, which is why having an active S.K.Y.P.E. protocol is necessary for the Army. After joining the army, make sure to be added to the proper S.K.Y.P.E. channels before launching to space as your first flight under RHA flag.
» So I'm a rekrut, what now?
Being a rekrut means you're to prove yourself capable of operating under the colors of volksrevolution before being added into the official roster of the RHA. To do so, you have one week to fulfill the requirements for promotion to Flieger.
Quote: Rekrut
Rekrut insignia
RHA rekruts are newly admitted pilots to the Red Hessian Army. Some are without flight training, others are former military, and yet others have just turned to the Hessians from civilian duty and have been admitted to the Army to fill up holes. This is the period during which they get to know their surroundings and the ships they are given to fly for the revolutionary cause. They will only get to proceed to the rank of Flieger if they have carried out the promotion requirements within the specified time (7 days).
Bonus given: Money for ship setup
Restrictions:
Allowed ship classes: Fighters
Only Red Hessian and civilian guns allowed to be mounted on your fighter(s)
Requirements for promotion to Flieger:
2 reports posted in message dump
Proof of fully set up fighter, with the appropriate ID and IFF
Ships required: Odin/Sabre/Switchblade/Loki (at least one of these)
Take note that during this period you're Not allowed to use [RHA] tag on any of your ships, but once you're promoted to Flieger, you'll get the clearance to do so. Now, to fulfill these steps first you need to read through our Operational Manual carefully, then bookmark the link to RHA Message Dumps and then as your first report, submit the proof of your fully set-up fighter in form of screenshots taken from your ID, Reputation sheet and Equipment screens. Then, after submitting your first report, you have one week to file two patrol reports, from your flight around Hessian territory and post logs of your in-game interaction with friendly, neutral or hostile forces - Be it in form of piracy attempts, combat situations or non-aggressive conversations.
After you've fulfilled these requirements, you will be promoted to Flieger and granted clearance to use [RHA] tag on your ships.
» What happens if I don't get this done in one week?
Simple. You'll be expelled from the faction.
» Why do I need Skype?
Each and every official faction on Discovery are based on teamplay, which is why Skype is a mandatory tool for their members. Also, as a new member of RHA - so, most likely new to hessian line of roleplay as well - you might run into certain situations which might prove to be problematic to control, or run into questions that you wouldn't know the answer. In these cases, a simple message on RHA skype channel will answer your question. Also, if under pressure from uneven number of hostiles, RHA channel can be used as an emergency help request method to call in backup to even up the odds.
But in cases other than these, RHA chat is mostly used for casual discussion, RHA-related or non-related, between the members of the faction.
» Anything else I need to know?
First and foremost, trying to fly along the other members of the RHA is encouraged. Most important part of playing in a faction is getting the opportunity to fly in packs, so drop a message on Skype when you want to log your RHA and see if anyone else is also interested to join.
Also, RHA has monthly roll-calls posted in our Faction sub-forum. These roll-calls will be announced using chat title of our Skype channel, and posting in them is mandatory. Even if you're the most active member in-game and on message dumps, but forget to post in the roll-call in time, you will be removed from the roster.
Then, there are additional assignments also posted in our faction sub-forum, mainly in form of individual operations. Consider them a chance to gain faster promotion, and do your best to take part in the progress of said operations.
Last but not least, RHA includes some of the older and more-experienced PvPers and instructors on Discovery. So use this opportunity if you feel you'd need combat instructions or practice sessions to improve your flight capabilities. Our practice sessions are usually held in Omega-54, our guard system.
» Good luck & See you in space.

Flieger
They are still novice, but eager to prove themselves regardless by carrying out orders they receive from their officers mostly without question.
Bonus given:
Bomber use granted
Transport use granted (read more)
Restrictions:
Allowed ship classes: Fighters, Bombers, Transports
Only Red Hessian and civilian guns allowed to be mounted on your fighter(s)
Gefreiter
A Gefreiter is an advanced Flieger who has proven him/herself not only reliable on the field, but also ideologically sound. Gefreiters are the men and women who are at the forefront of most assaults. They are slowly realising the extent of what they must do in order to help spread the Volksrevolution, their experience becoming more and more considerable each day, their names steadily finding their way onto the Rheinland Police' suspected terrorists list.
Bonus given:
Granted use of allied weapons and equipment
Granted supervised access to the Red Hessian Army special weaponry storage (codename gun armoury)
Granted use of shared RHA support accounts
Pilots who become Leutnants are those who are beginning to succumb to the gritty reality of the battlefield in the Omega systems and the civil war within Rheinland itself. Still idealistic and courageous, they now know the extent of the terror that their enemies are willing to inflict upon them, if only to break their will. So they thrust their ships into the heat of the battle, only to emerge victorious as they find themselves accomplishing feats of extraordinary skill and prowess, with Hessian generals silently starting to look at them as future commanders of their ever growing fleet of fighters.
Bonus given:
Granted use of shared RHA gunboat accounts (at the leaders convenience)
Granted use of gunboats
By the time a Red Hessian Army pilot reaches the rank of Oberleutnant, the Oberleutnant is more than well aware of the acts of the Red Hessian movement, all in order to assure the flow of supplies to the cause. Becoming more cynical by the day, the Oberleutnant nonetheless unquestioningly commands the raiding squads and diamond smuggling rackets within the Army, in order to assure the continued operation of the Hessian gears of war. But regardless of this, the pilot is still committed to what he believes is right. The Oberleutnant regards his/her duties as but a necessary evil on his homeland's and his/her own way to freedom from fascism.
Bonus given:
Granted use of shared RHA cruiser accounts
Granted use of cruisers
A Red Hessian Army Hauptmann is a seasoned veteran, thinking in terms of long term strategy more so than morality. He/she is now a higher officer, and frequently takes command of the troops on the field in the absence of other, more experienced Hessian fighters and officers. The Hauptmann is not afraid -- and even used to pulling the trigger of a weapon directed at his/her enemies, not at all haunted by remorse for his actions nor his enemies. He/she is slowly becoming cold and calculated, a true hammer of the Volksrevolution, and that alone brings him respect among his fellow peers.
Bonus given:
Granted use of shared RHA battleship accounts
Granted use of battleships
A Major of the Red Hessian Army is an individual who has proven to the whole movement that he/she has what it takes to lead the Hessian masses of displaced workers and miners to their inevitable victory. He/she now is a part of the group surrounding the Brigadegenerals, and knows by name all the great commanders of the movement. A Red Hessian Army Major is an individual equally revered and feared by his soldiers, mainly for his unparalleled effectiveness in battle and a devotion to the cause bordering on fanaticism. He/she participates in all important decisions of the group, and sometimes even the movement. His/her appearance on the battlefield strikes fear into the hearts of the enemy, as those who can comprehend it know full well that they are then facing the best of what their opponents have to offer.
Bonus given:
Granted use of all assets available to the Red Hessian Army, granted a place on the RHA revolutionary council
Brigadegeneral
The Brigadegenerals are hand-picked by the Generalmajor, they are the elite strategists of the Army; each in charge of a specific system the Army has strong influence over. The Brigadegenerals are also given access to Wiesbaden and all areas of Planet Tangier, the Brigadegenerals are in frequent contact with the Generalmajor both over comm links and in person. The Brigadegeneral is one of the most respected and important positions within the Army.
Bonus given:
Granted use of all assets available to the Red Hessian Army, granted a place on the RHA revolutionary council and authorization over military missions, movements, and assets of the system assigned to.
Generalmajor
The Generalmajor is the figurehead and leader of the Army, the word and will of the Generalmajor is not questioned; and is carried out without hesitation. The Generalmajor is one of the most wanted people in Sirius, and as such maximum protection of the Generalmajor is provided at all times. The Generalmajor reserves herself/himself only for worthy combat missions or defense of Vogtland, and is extremely rarely seen in space or in person.
Bonus given:
Authorization and access to all assets of the Army, the word and will of the Generalmajor is final and not to be questioned.

You do not own anything on Discovery due to the terms and conditions you accepted. Everything, including official faction lore and graphic, is owned by Dev Team. Just a small reminder here.
Also, you cannot forbid indies from using stuff. It's not against rules.
