so i was flying around one day figured id see the nomad systems and saw that the dyson city was incomplete. I have some files with the completed dyson sphere and airlock if you guys want them for next release. all of them i made from scratch. but thats if yall wanna use them.

On the note of the Nomad systems, I went exploring earlier on open SP with a outcast BS, and found most of them, including the one with the Keepers hide-out. They all seem very purple, and very empty, which confuses me. The nomads have been in Sirius far longer than we have, and we have created a whole empire of bases, colonised planets and the such. Wouldn't the native species have built more stuff? I couldn't find the hypergate to the dyson's sphere either. I guess I need to check up on the SP missions again...
About the hidden nomad base, shouldn't there be BS patrols? I only encountered fighters and very rarely GBs.
I think they are templates for further enhancements to those systems (and perhaps something else, who knows...:rolleyes:). Although 99 and Iota are considered guard systems there are no reinforced NPCs or defense and obstruction mechanisms. Temporary layout until the next version I think.
Hypergate is just a visual effect spawned by script in the mission above the city, there is no real hypergate model or anything. Of course there can be custom modeled gates and all that (for example a while earlier I turned nomad gate into docking ring which works both in and out), but currently there are several issues with custom static models which I'm working on the solution and hope to find very soon.
At large it depends on the main storyline, not the faction. Asking for everyone to have the same environment, ships, etc. isn't very roleplay, for example not every faction can actually afford constructing capital ships en masse but seems like these days every factions wants to have their own. Feels like an attempt to balance out everything by equation which isn't particularly good method here as it kills actual variety replacing it with difference only at visual cosmetics and nothing more. "inv only" is going to be removed at some point, but how and when is too early to say.
Omicron major(s) (aka dyson sphere) can't be modified since they are vital to single player and it can result in broken scripts. They're nice but if you ask me I'd say they should be off limits.
I believe I speak for everyone when I request that the Dyson sphere trench be modified into a glorious Death Star run, or some similar course of racing/shooting good times.
Anyone who thinks otherwise shall be attacked by a space squid at earliest convenience (the squids).

understandably but you know there are ways around that right? plus last i checked you cant play the SP game all the way anyways. (im the origional poster btw)/. reguarldess of broken scripts, they wont affect open sp or multiplayer. the dyson airlock (before jumping in) is pretty much a custom JG .cmp file jsut needs to be modified and saved into the same format as other jumpgates. the dyson city is differnt story. takes a bit of work and knowledge of the generator hardpoints and FX mounts to make it look right. but for next version if the modders want it all they need is to ask me ill send them everything (airlock and dyson sphere in reference to this) with everything but mission npcs due to the fact that those are only things i cant get working.
(dyson city has a docking ring and mooring fixture too)
Zelcain, personally I see no use for Dyson sphere rp-wise, at least in it's current form. I know how to make it all work, I've been experimenting with gates (making custom modeled jumpgates) and all that stuff for a while, but that's not the point here. It's that I see no use for Dyson sphere RP-wise, personally I'd rather have it off limits. It's kinda abandoned now, would make more sense to make the new systems with it and make it gloomy place with dangerous anomalies all around, broken interior and exterior plates, rare but veru deadly encounters (buffed up assassins). This will require more work, re-modeling certain things and re-texturing starscapes, but will fit well into the discovery.
