Yet it is still a useful weapon in the opening salvo, mainly due to it's projectile speed making it hard to dodge. I'm all for raising/doubling the damage and energy consumption, and doubling the weapon cooldown as well. DPS would remain the same, but it'd make the gun a definate step-up from the standard heavy mortar.
