I paid the miner a total of 30 million each trip and I made about 72 million credits in just under 50 minutes. In total, I made about 102 million credits overall. This is with a 3350 cargo hold.
I could probably start a new character, and buy a battleship with CAU 8 in about 3 days (or less, if really determined). Money has no value even though your entire argument is based on money.
I'm done with this thread, because it's not going anywhere at this point and this community has always been against any form of change.
Bye now.
Admins said in past there will never be dead is dead. So this whole topic is pointless.
Well, someone had a great suggestion on damaging all your equipment (except armor) on death. Although, with current mod and weponc costs on BSes it'll be a bit too harsh for battleships (like, 100m repairs for Valor), but at least it'd allow us to balance em out like Real battleships. (2-3m hull on Valor/Rh BS/Jinkusu, anyone?)
And... you know what'll happen when this gets implemented? MEGAGANKS. Because people will be trying to avoid their blue messages by all means necessary, at same time trying to inflict maximum damage on enemy.
EvE Online anyone? (sun)
Although, that will be very realistic. But I bet many of you, "experienced Roleplayers", won't like the consequences of moving to a more realistic environment.

I'll be the first to tell you that I hate most traders. None of them make a pirate's job hard. They don't take any choices given to them and they don't try to create any choices for themselves. They are docile and utterly pathetic.
That said, there are times when I thought I could get away from a pirate and have not. I have been thankful that my ship remained. There are probably times where you had tried to get away from a pirate and have not. I'm pretty sure you were happy, too.
Be a mean pirate. It's a much better alternative to the situation or poorly motivated traders than anything which can be hard coded.
Most traders encounter pirates who give them 30 seconds, if that, to choose to pay or die. Thats not enough for even most experienced traders to RP.
If I remember correctly a pirate smuggler who, instead of Rping, ducked and covered for the nearest planet. That trader then sent every Merc in the game after that poor guy.
Pirates make hit and runs because they know if they stay too long, reinforcements will arrive and ruin their fun. Traders dont RP because a lot of their mind set is to get to their destination and make a profit, not get pirated.
The times I remember being pirated I either made sport of it, trying to have fun with it, or just plain gave in. There was a time when I made the RP in a pirating against me so much fun for everyone, they Paied -me- after it was all done.
Will that happen all the time, no. But you'll never know until you try. Silence is the most frustrating RP because, well its silence. Frustration leads to rage, rage leads to target lock, target lock leads to SNACing.
Traders, don't upset the angry pirate.
Pirates, say something more than "Gives me the cash now or dies!" It kina limits our options, just a bit.
Pirates are automatical mean, synical, maybe funny, but mean. We have enough stupid pirates making traders f1 or do something ooc to fill a sanctionlancers christmas list. We just need to Role Play. We -can- RP a mean angry obtuse Pirate just as well as we can RP a trader franctically trying to spin a story to save their own life and maybe lower the pirating cost.
It's not impossible. I know we have it in us.:)
Sometimes, when all you want is to gain your freedom, you must be willing to risk it all.
I spend about 80% of my time trading.....either smuggling, or legal trading. I enjoy it. With my main character, I try to incorporate the RP that I have in game with other players, into the story of my character.
Pirates....I have seen enough of you to know that most of you could not RP your way out of a paper bag. Most common situation I have with Pirates is, I get shot before I even hear a demand. Or.../1.../2...death 15second later. Or, I run into the same Pirate player in 3 different systems with 3 different Characters all with in 15 minutes and a demand of 10 mill each time.
So, when I see a pirate, I don't say much anymore. Why bother. Give him/her the money and move on. Some of you, I see on the scanners, and I automatically tell my crew to go get in the Ejection Pods, and make way for the nearest planet.
Best RP with a Pirate I had....He made me pay him 500,000cr and then made me listen to 3 really bad jokes and at gunpoint told me to laugh at them. 1 good RP exchange with a Pirate in 2 years of Disco.
And you say the problem is Traders. Sorry Bro, I don't see it that way.
Pirate RP takes no brains and little skill. Camp a lane program a couple of /Setmsg and get your thrill when you get a Kill message. Anyone can be a bully if they got a baseball bat. What is funny is to hear them cry when things don't go their way.
The problem with playing a pirate, is trader go 'OOHH LOOK! A PIRATE! DAIII!' or 'OHH GAWD! A PIRATE! GTFO!' which makes pirating really hard, and most the time boring... cause you either kill an easy trader, or you let someone run...
Basically, I agree with the people who say 'RP BEFORE ANYTING ELSE' cause otherwise all you get are lolwuts doing a runner without even saying bye...
