Not really sure if this is a bug or a balance issue..
So I was flying my ZBT Zoner whale through Omega 5 earlier and was accosted by a bunch of hessians.First of all, I noticed that I could not fire my heavy CM launcher while cruising. I thought you were supposed to be able to do this?
Between the hessian gb knocking me out of cruise, the mines, and the rest of the kitchen sink being thrown my way, when I finally got my cruise engine running and made the jump into Omega 7, my shields were almost knocked out.
On the other side of the hole, there were more hessian npcs, but thankfully no gunboat. I get to cruise, and my shield is about halfway recharged. However, I notice my powercore is draining little by little. When it finally reaches 0, my ship -stops-. Cannot move at all. It isn't until my shield is finally done recharging that I can finally move again, and amusingly, at that very moment the ship springs back into cruise and accelerates to 350.
Bugs? Features? Mehhh? I've never heard of a shield's regen-powerdrain outstripping its power regen.. But then, I guess when I'm in cruise, my power regen is 0. So would this happen to any ship?
Yes. So it seems the ship's regen is the same as the shield's drain, so they should cancel each other out. Therefore while your shield is regenerating you should neither gain nor lose power.
But the little bit of power you have while cruising doesn't seem to recharge. So really, if you take damage long enough while cruising, like if you fly through a long stretch of gas clouds or mines, you will eventually run out of power and stop dead in your tracks. You will probably then explode because you won't realize that the reason you're not regenerating power is that you're still in cruise despite not moving.
Use an Enhanced CM dropper. They drain less energy, so you can drop them in cruise. I'm not even sure why there is a CM that drains more energy per drop than is available in cruise. Probably residue of the old non-drain cruise system.
As for the shields, that is a dev issue, so I will not be able to help with that.
The funny thing is that in upgrade 5 change log is written that Zonerzoner 5k can drop heavy CMs- normal transport core instaled and that it is fixed- so it must be bug, however about the shield- same story in GMG 4,7ker- if you use 100k shield you are screwed- cannot even cruise away when you loose the shield- so use 30k one or 50k.
I personally think that both ships should have normal transport core. Having 100k shield is not such advantage on that gunless paper hull ships really.

Rebuy the ship. The power plant got adjusted in the ship package in update 4, but that won't fix existing Whales.

Do this count to any ship that got changed powercore in 4.85 to 4.86 update 1 or only for the next smaller updates?
What about Kujira- it has the same issue- and it is not battle transport with one lvl1 turret anyway- can it get a bit better core too?
