Are we talking about the impact effects, or the humongous "blob" projectiles? If just the impact, I can see about returning the old ones for that. The fugly projectiles will not be returning however.
Will tone down that ring a bit however - oversized effect was always idiotically oversized...

I don't care much about the projectiles (although they were easier to see). I'm not flying any capitals at all.
I just liked the impact explosion effects. I would be satisfied with smaller ones, too. They really were big. And sometimes I even was blinded by it.
The same effect, just 3-5 times smaller would be nice.

its an antimatter weapon if you fire it expect to get an big boom + on an vakum it keeps expanding.
if you ask me the old size & effect was excelent but the projectiles are good as they are now,
but the old L.Mortar was an eye candy loved it to fire.
realism ? would you fly through an asteroid field ? woudl you jump into an radioactive system? but in FL we do it its an FUN game where RP & socialism rules
p.s. the expanding ring on impact should do dmg too (0,5/10 scale) since its an antimatter explosion
(at least an EMP pulse that wreck the shields down)
