<strike>Getting random FPS drops. FRAPS shows 60 FPS at all times regardless of ATI card settings, but every once in a while it will drop to exactly 30 FPS, stay there for a bit, and then come back up. It seems to happen when I approach ships, but I have not confirmed it yet.
Also I can reproduce the behavior at will by pressing F9 to pull up the infocard of a targetable object (station, ship, etc). FPS will drop to 30, stay there for a while, then come back to 60.
Maybe some of model tweaks are bugged, the card is trying to find them, failing, and then giving up? <--WAG</strike>
this was tracked to FRAPS--F9 was the default key for "record a video" which was lagging me to hell
Aet: Well, guess I can't become responsible for solving this one (sun)
' Wrote:Every time I click on a Freeport 10 bar NPC,FL crashes :(
Edit:Tried other stations on different chars, same result. <strike>Reinstalling now. I will edit the post to tell if the problem persists.</strike>
Edit2: Also the first time I updated I had the following video problem: First 20 seconds are fine with any char, but after that game tears apart simulating massive lag...
Edit3: After the bar NPC bug the lag issue came back. Final edit: NPC problem still here. Reinstalled both Vanilla Fl and Disco. Everything is fine till I talk to a bar NPC.
Massive lag after 20+ seconds of playing still present...Suggestions?
Somewhat similar problem here....When I start Disco, the first 10-20 seconds are normal and then I experience MASSIVE fps loss. No NPC talking involved in my case. Tried different characters as well with the same result: Unbearable! It's like watching a movie picture by picture by picture....
Any suggestions besides re-installing?
Btw: Playing with German version, mabye the newest changes in the installer did something....
On a different note: Kudos! (besides the problems;)
New Berlin still has disorganized trade lanes. New Tokyo as well. Honshu lanes are messed up as well, especially to Okinawa and the Sigma 19 gate.
Samura NPCs in Sigma 13 are carrying Liquefied Petroleum Fuel. Seems kind of odd considering the ships and location. These were near the Frankfurt gate.
Aet: New Berlin has it's main tradelanes organized in a ring going clockwise. The exits will always be out of sync with one lane or another - you can't make all lanes do a triangular junction without one of them crossing over. It's as good as it's going to get. Honshu, same deal. New Tokyo, same deal. The fix is done to minimise crossing for through-traffic, especially on systems that just have one (main) lane. Samura (and Kishiro) carrying some Gallic products is by design.
Changing my 5 Bretonian Small Transport Turrets to 5 Gallic Small Transport Turrets on my transport reduced my cargo hold size from 4915 to 4790. Nothing else was changed on my side.
Aet: Volume bug on the turrets. Fixed for next update.
These pictures were actually taken in U4. I just checked for U5, though: Still a problem.
In Connecticut, there's always been this blob of incorporeal mines at the exact location of the NY hole that appears sometimes. Now that the hole is gone, it's more noticeable. What's the deal with that, anyway? Can it be removed?
Also, I like the new holes in Conn, but the labels aren't entirely accurate. Inside the minefields, the holes are still marked as "Fighter/Freighter Only Arena" or "Fighter/Gunboat/Transport Arena". Shouldn't they be labeled, like, "New Haven Jump Hole" or "Planet Hartford Jump Hole"? It's not a big deal, really, but just something for the sake of consistency.
Aet: It's Conn. Not worried about labeling there, since the entire system is an OORP fragzone. As for the planet, I'll check again. -positive- I had that fixed with a tweak to the planetsphere...
Dunno its a bug from the 5th update or not, but there are jammed missions by the Bundschuh in Frankfurt system. The mission is acceptable but there are nothing just a location without anything there.
Aet: This happens sometimes for all factions. Server reset fixes it. I suspect Isle De France to be one of the causes.
Not sure if this is a bug or not, but in my BWT docking into a lane is a nightmare. The ship keeps on trying to dock at weird angles and gets stuck. The nose of the ship plunging down to the bottom left hand corner of the ring is a favourite. I don't experience the problem with any other ship in my collection.
Aet: I've attempted to reproduce this on a test server and have been unable to. Only when you're trying to quickdock but are not aligned to the lane center does this happen - which is pilot error.
