Well so far we've been nice to use the forums to declare the incoming destruction of a base and then post it's destruction when done. One group mentioned something of a war that never happened though, probably found some fun things to do when repping their ships for it  Either way, we provide the opportunity to take vengeance on us.
Yeah, sorry, that was what I was getting at. Leave it open as an option. I can well imagine seeing lawfuls making their decrees but they too do some black-ops from time to time. Unlawfuls pretty much don't give a heads up and I wouldn't want to force them to.
Well , with such measure you will know what killed your base. For example , i found out that my base was left without water and oxygen , and when my teammates replenished it - they forgot to get more crew to keep reparing...
People here are too vengeful and grudge-holding. If they have a means to find out who destroyed their base, they will most likely go to (oorp) lenghts to get even. Which will cause all kinds of unpleasantness.
The only reason to know who killed your base -is- to get rage revenge at any cost.
Sometimes, when all you want is to gain your freedom, you must be willing to risk it all.

Sure, I agree, it can be simple too. If it was destroyed by players keep the message as is. If it collapsed due to inability to maintain it for some reason or another then the message can read "X base has perished" or "X base has collapsed" something a little bit different but not completely identifying.
