Stratcom is basically a Military-Political analysis think-tank and news agency that studies House Militaries, Unlawful Factions, Wars, etc and presents them in a news format. A little Idea I had a while back. Something like Janes Information Group or GlobalSecurity.org but in Outer Space.
They look at what Factions and Players are doing. What incidents are evolving. What new ships/bases are being built. So on and so forth. Then post it in a news article in the style of a political/military report.
Probably won't have much of an in-game presence except for reporters who go around and interview people and take screenshots.
So, if you want to suggest feedback, ask questions, or have an idea for a story or a faction I should write an article about (or if you want to write one!) go ahead and post it here.
EDIT: Also, ad space. If you can make up an Ad go ahead and let me know.
feedback in total, not bad... but cut all stuff to what you don't have access, please.
now by paragraphs.
AFA - Cool stuff, they could talk with media, acceptable.
KNF - Noone ever told that KNF was in situation that it couldn't defend Kusari and Police took all the job, only idiot can come to such conclusion after statement that major part of tau fleet was destroyed(God damn.. core always was protected) for journalists.. they like to overreact.. but it's idiocity and blatant lies.
KNF\KSP relations - don't metagame please, there was no official tlaks, only private and highly secured message that only Admiral/Chokan/PM(MoD) know. and they wouldn't tell that to press... no **** way. = Pure metagame.
KPT = full of imagination.. in style of journalists, but again full of lies and metagaming. Chokan controls one:D other parties control others:D

Media is all about trying to worm their way into secrets and 'private talks'. Plus the rumor mill is always around. I wouldn't be that appalled at a little metagaming considering it's a media service. Of course, the full facts never get known, but often a good guess is made.
And you dont seem to get the point of a feedback thread.
That said, I agree with you, and wish you luck, I have seen many "news group" attempts come and fail quickly. So you'll need it! What would be good is if you give the story on whats happening so we can know inrp without having to search the forums oorp. Such as the hellfire-rogue thing, I dont know what thats about. Or that corsair base thing, or whatever happened to the Order.
The whole "Metagaming" accusations is ridiculous, so keep it up, and please make sure its interesting!

West, the fact that the KNF are currently a shadow of their former strength while insurgent factions get stronger is hardly a secret. Having the bulk of your fleet obliterated in the Taus by the GRN, with a good portion of the rest detecting or being exiled on the front lines is... Well, kinda noticable.
So far as force comparisons go, the KNF are currently the weakest navy in Sirius.
All of what I have written is based primarily on in-game observations and general trends that Kusari has followed since I've been around. It would be blatantly obvious to any observer who is paying attention, let alone a think-tank who's job it is to consider this stuff. A think tank who would have spoken with members of the Intelligence community both within Kusari and without.
The KNF, as an official faction, was knocking on death's door for a few weeks. Nearly got their official status kicked off. And the KSP was much more-active around the same time.
The bulk of the old Imperial Navy is dead to death, that's just the way it is. Gallia came in and pwned them (expect a review on that one later)
What is left in Kusari and Bretonia are a remnant minority of Combined Fleet's strength at it's height. And add on top of that a Democratic "revolution" and a massive turnaround in political polarization (which itself seems somewhat difficult to believe, given how supportive most of the Kusari population was of the old regime at the time. Trust me, I was around the and I know this).
As for the Kempeitai, the Marahu incident showed this one quite clearly. Trust me, I was there. There were at-least three separate groups of them, acting in their own interests, mine included. Atleast two more semi-organized groups emerged after this. So the decentralization of the organization would be, again, obvious to anyone observing from a geopolitical perspective and with any real insight into the inner workings of the respective agencies.
That being said, there are follow-up articles to the starter one coming and if anyone wants to voice their opinions, let it be so to give me more meat for another article.

blablablabla, yeah I don't:D all is lies

idiocy. in that case you should tell that GRN have no strenght to win bretonia war, since they not active in game.
also, point stands. Chokan/Taisho convo = metagaming
I personally liked that article.
There is indeed some metagaming involved, but it doesn't bother me that much.
Reacting on the current KNF strength :
I personally always considered it to be weak. Especially in the beginning of 4.86, even if some events were made to prevent a fleet loyal to Kogen to leave Kusari.
As outlined here, KNF struggled during a while to get back enough personnel and equipment to protect core space.
Furthermore, it explains why we tend to field very little caps.
The tendency is to have more available heavy units however, given the pressure KNF would have made on keiretsu to rebuild its strength.
That said, i think it's a mistake to link in game activity and lore related strength, as pointed out by West.
Following that logic, the most powerful navy right now would be LN, given the number of LNS folks waving their manhood around.
The next article on Rheiland/Liberty relations perhaps, as a summary of a the losses of each party? I'm sure Interspace Commerce would enjoy to be interviewed about the thud with Rheinland as well.
