' Wrote:You did not read my posts then. The Iota hole is not inside the roidfield, but only covered by nebula. Same with the Core system entrance. There is an exclusion path from the Order base towards the Iota hole for caps to follow, and a few others along the trade paths (check the minimap if you need to find those).
Dev update:
- Started work on making Gallia more fun to play in. Which means: Shrinking the place down, removing a LOT of weapon emplacements, and reorganising the systems to create a few piracy bottlenecks. Also the NPCs need to get a tune-down (meaning that like most Sirian systems, the NPCs are fairly easy in the capitol world, but get harder as you move further away from it). This is a major project and will likely take a while. There are some 20 systems involved in this, of which at least 15 need to be partially redesigned.
There...is.. a god..

As did Alpha, yet there was a change there to make it harder for people to raid Alpha from the Taus.
Alpha has Tau 37, Beta, 85, and 80 as buffer systems. Gamma has 41, Theta, Kappa, and Lambda as buffer systems. Four each. Just wondering why there was a need to place another buffer system to protect Alpha yet not one for Gamma.
Also rather confused as AD (in another thread) was rather vocal in trying to push the idea of forcing traffic into Gamma. Yet, he's isolating Alpha.
Basing this statement off my experiences and the experiences of a handful of people I play with (and forum drama), but that seems rather off because Alpha sees very little action compared to Gamma. One would think you'd be trying to push people into Alpha for this reason instead of pushing people into a system that is already very active (and causing drama to boot).
' Wrote:Eta is a nice spot for people who want to engage in NPC anti capital missions. I'm leaving it in for that reason, but the Sigmas (mainly Sigma 13) will become an alternate battleground. This gives people a choice. As for Gallia, just wait until stuff is done before starting complaints, aye?
I got the feeling that consensus was for removing it entirely and forcing interaction to happen in the sigmas. If you leave Eta where it is then the encounters wont change much. People can mission grind in their home systems just fine anyway.

That is one of the effects, but that is not the cause. The cause was that Alpha was a far too short shortcut for trade traffic going from the Taus to Rheinland. That is now fixed, and the traffic will go through Kusari's trade lanes. That's why I asked for the change, and that's why it was implemented. If Corsairs want to raise a hue and cry to get another system added in between O41 and Gamma, then I'm all for it. There are empty systems that could be pulled down there and used for that purpose, and it would eliminate the Omegas as a trade shortcut around Rheinland. It's not much of a shortcut now, but it can't be eliminated without adding another system in there. Of course, that will also potentially ruin the Artifact routes through Bretonia to Liberty, but you can't have it all...

Dev update:
I'm still working on the Gallic systems. I'd say about half the work is done, and it's going faster now that I've got a routine in it. Repositioning the lanes and various bases can be quite a hassle with those huge bases with an excessive component count - where possible, I'm zapping those to an acceptable level of components as well (typically less then 8). I'm also zapping the systemwide capital ship patrols - those will be restricted to the local zones of GalNavy bases, prisons and various settled planets. Couple of gunboat patrols around fortified points though... I've also noticed that various lanes did not have any trafficzones on them - meaning that trying to do NPC piracy would be pointless - there'd be no traffic. Fixing that too.
Done so far:
Provence, Auvergne, Maine, Picardy, Anjou, Orleanais, Dauphine, Languedoc. Small edits to Tau 23 and Rishiri as well.
Left on the list: Berry, Burgundy, Lyonnais, Champagne, Lorraine.

So, does that mean, the current amount of gallia systems will stay the same? non perhaps that will be removed? I still think there are too many of them to have any interaction.
Gallia is where I go to chill, trade and make easy money with my trader. No pirates, just pure lane flying and an acceptable profit without risking anything. It's a great place for a trader:)I hope that those changes won't nerf the income too much, considering that there will probably be pirates around after the next update.:(
