The rumour-writing team, a subset of infocarding, requires writers with a little bit of imagination, a good grasp of the English language, and at least moderate knowledge of the region/faction you're writing about.
If you think you fit the bill, contact me over Skype. (Of course, you won't be able to answer the third point until I tell you what needs writing, so if you think you have a solid grasp of overall Freelancer and Disco lore, that should do.)
Dev update: Continuing work on the models. As I went, noticed and solved quite a number of bugs, mostly related to glowmaps (windows that were supposed to light by themselves but did not). I've also done minor editing to some models:
- Order Recon Cruiser loses the excessively large antennae at the sides, that make the thing almost as annoying as a barge to traverse roidfields with. The resulting craft looks more like an Order combat cruiser, and makes the craft more suitable to use in the Omicron and Omega roidfields that are the Order's primary ZoI.
- The Havoc fighter's large front "tubes" get drastically shortened. It's not a bomber anymore, and they look ridiculous on the model.
Roughly 150 models done now, good progress.

There is some weird bug for the KuEx, where it stops at a trade lane and never docks in it.
So far Ive seen it happen only with the KuEx and nothing else.
It happens mostly when Im grouped with a person (the person himself is in ANOTHER system!!!).
What happens: I press "dock" on a trade lane, the explorer moves according to the auto pilot and shortly before it can enter the sucktion, it just starts slowing down the engine, down to 0.
This way it never actually docks with the lane, because the auto pilot just slows down and stops completely.
The ship just hangs....tried the /stuck command to make it dock with the lane - no chance.
I should have posted it in the bug reports, but didnt want to spam additional posts there.
Primary question to the dev log - are the hessian cruisers being replaced in 4.87? Sorry if it has been answered before, just cant find anything on that topic.

Both the Hel and Vidar get replaced, yes. Use the search to find the new piccies - models by Massdriver. This is not a bug reporting thread, please report bugs where they go so they can be worked on once we're able to handle bugs again.
Dev update: Continuing work on the models. Found another ton of errors and solved them. Only thing left on the todo is a few Hess models, the Coalition craft and the Gallic snubs. After that I'll have to check the station components, but there's not as many of those.

- Implemented a clientside shipclass override. This causes ships to now appear on the buy screen with the proper ship class name. IE a Battleship will no longer be listed as a "freighter". This will hopefully clear up confusion among players as to what's what - and incidentally makes sorting ship by class in FLStat a breeze. The following classes are defined:
0 Light Fighter
1 Heavy Fighter
2 Freighter
3 Very Heavy Fighter
4 Super Heavy Fighter
5 Bomber
6 Transport
7 Train
8 Heavy Transport (>3.6K cargo)
9 Super Train (House supertrains)
10 Liner
11 Gunship (Low firepower, high maneuverability)
12 Gunboat
13 Destroyer
14 Cruiser
15 Battlecruiser
16 Battleship
17 Carrier
18 Dreadnaught (Biggest powercore vessels)
Isnt the Liberty DREADNAUGHT one of the lightest battleships?

Yes, and the Bretonian Destroyer is the size of a battlecruiser. Very astute, Hone. However, the fact that Liberty named a light battleship a dreadnaught doesn't classify it as such. Now kindly refrain from drawing conclusions until you've seen the results, yes? Besides, as far as the server rules are concerned, we still have the old "gunboat/cruiser/battleship" differentiation, so the difference between a dread and battleship is in name only.

Why is the liberty BS called a dreadnaught? I didnt see it like that in singleplayer, did you? Also I didnt draw conclusions, I asked a question.

If you didnt see it you werent looking--in the mission where you go intercept Ashcroft in Colorado, the Battleship Unity is stationed at the gate, and it is Liberty Dreadnought in the F9 info screen.
Digital Anvil used some stupid naming. The LSC is not a "cruiser" by any stretch of the word. Also there arent any true dreadnoughts in the game. A dreadnought is designed for bombarding far-off targets and not for ship-to-ship fighting. Think of a battleship with all class-10 weaps and no class-9 guns. Most of the vanilla ship classes are stupidly named.
My guess is that they called it a Dreadnaught because Liberty initially also had a different Battleship model in vanilla - but that was snipped before the game's release. Remnants of it remain in the game, none that I can draw a mesh out of unfortunately though. And yes, they were called Dreadnaughts in vanilla already. That oops wasn't on the Disco end
And yea, the LSC is, like most forward-heavy cruiser class ships, more a destroyer kind of ship.
