So many things discovered and who knows how many sitll hidden?
With my trader char. i used to look at the commodity in the shop, see th highest price and place, memorize, buy as much as i could, system map, zoom out, correct system, select right base.
Recently took notice of the trade route button in your cargo hold. Select commodity, press trade route and just click on the base you wan to go to - ZOOMS to the base and click - set path...
Very handy indeed.
Just another thing, long forgotten. In my first Single-Player weeks with Freelancer, I thought the red X on the map would mark dangerous areas. I never looked at them closer. After some weeks a friend told me, that those are wrecks, and nice things are to find there.

Haha..
I had to post to note the irony of a CODE WEAPON dealer not knowing how wrecks containing said weapons look on the map ^_^
Might as well add something useful: Only a month or two ago I learned that you can also use the scroll wheel to turretzoom. Up until that point, I'd used keyboard shortcuts instead.
I've been playing Freelancer pretty much since it came out and I spent a huge amount of time exploring in disco, but I swear today's the first time I came across Planet Hikari.
When you don't have a target selected and press the "Go to" botton, the ship goes in cruise, flies straight and avoids asteroids and other stellar objects.
This is very useful when chasing some one trough a asteroid field and you need to chat with him.
