Perhaps something like this can be implemented for lawful use and anti pirating as an online emergency channel.
And unlawfuls get their own frequency to gather their forces.

Frequencies... like a radio. Just a thought

I find the idea as rough idea good but need more defining.
When let say trader T sends it who gets it?
All with the same ID?
All with the same ID+local Navy/Police?
All in the sector?

The 30 min delay is also too much, I guess 2 min delay is enough. Paying 30m for 1 hour spam is fair, since one trader makes around that if he does not mine or jump.Also there must be option to mute the said msgs as well, at least the sector-wide ones,while keeping the faction ID ones.

Other thing is if there would be option to send msg from Region 1 to Region 2 for example? Also if it costs 5m none would use it since there is /fm LNS HALP for free.
In terms of improving the gameplay:
My guess- best thing is to allow msg all other ships with the same ID without counting region for small fee let say 1m.
It would allow the players to organize themselves in-game as well and it would be really valuable together with the money sink.
That brings other idea- why does not introduce tax for all out of system msgs via chat console- something really cheap but constant money sink, Massdriver is this one possible as well?
