I would like to say in conclusion that there is no reason to do anything against the UMG oorply. As long as the UMG stays within the limitations of the IMG ID, everything is okay. And I have not seen anything that would go against the ID. Not even the "cooperation" with the Liberty Rogues because it is no alliance but a "we pay you, don't hurt us" relationship that is rather normal when we think about criminals.
I would like to handle everything else in roleplay.
Irply, the IMG| hasn't even heard anything of the UMG yet. That's no surprise, as we do not operate in Liberty and will not start operating in Liberty. Once the IMG| comes to know about the UMG, we can rp and see where this leads.
Oorp critizism before anything happened is perhaps not the best way to deal with a new concept. Of course I can see potential consequences of unlawful actions, but being afraid of potential problems before the rp even started is not really conducive to a creative roleplay environment.
Consequently, I wish you good luck. Feel free to initiate rp with the IMG| via forums, or contact us ingame if you want to rp. If you do not want that, but stay under the radar, that's also perfectly irp.

I don't personally see the need to use Junker ID when you can just use RP to differentiate yourselves from IMG|, instead of semi-ooRP means.
The base and different operation zone is a good step for that.
If only it were that simple. Most indies don't give a crap about how we roleplay, they just see red and want to kill. It takes somebody green to tell them we're working together in order to solve the issue. I really do wish we could just stick to the IMG ID, but unfortunately we're still constantly being swarmed by people who believe we're corporates, so rather than us mining for these rogue transports and such, they instead simply want to blow us up. That's why we have to mix a junker in.
For the couple of people who hated the faction just for the hell of it, you can rejoice and be happy.
The Congress got a bit powerhungry and decided they wouldn't allow the base to exist unless I gave them the master password, tier2 password was not enough.
As I refused, the alliance between us was severed.
With the congress becoming more of an enemy than an ally, there is no real point in having an unlawful miners guild in which the market itself has become an enemy.
UMG is gone, you can all be happy. It's not just about the base; we could do it alone, but there is no point without unlawful customers for an unlawful mining faction.
I don't want to see any UMG's hating Congress or Congress hating UMG's in here, so I request that this thread be locked, it has no further purpose.
Reading the above post, I guess my feedback might be a bit too late, but...
I just saw a UMG| ship today with an AI ID and AI guns. What's with that? Looks like an excuse to grab an ID with very few rephacks and guns you're not supposed to be able to use (efficiently) on another ID. Bear in mind that the AI ID is specifically for the AIs originating from Planet Gammu, not AIs built by humans like the robots you see on some space stations.

The roleplay behind that was that it was an AI research drone originally intended for hauling small amounts of material for analysis, but it was captured by the lane hackers, and UMG paid them to reprogram the drones to be used by UMG.
I wasn't going to allow people to use transports with more than 2,000 cargo for roleplaying as cargo drones (to make sure people wouldn't use it for powertrading with the ID and rep, and to be sure it's actually about the roleplay) but there's no real point in that now.
Was seeing it as potential roleplay to make the lane hackers possible business connections to the UMG, but since there is no UMG, no reason.
UMG characters can't be renamed for a week, so you'll still be seeing the tag around for a while on a few people.
