Alright, I know a lot of people with SRP and RP who do just fine with the barge, unlike some delicate souls that I could mention, but those who are not under SRP and more specificly those that are using jump-trading should be limited, not later but now.
Oh, and if you want to whine, whine some place else but keep this thread alive and post relevant information.
Since people use Zoner whales as the mean for the jump, TAZ should limit the whale.
Also, Most barge jumpers I know are zoners who can't dock within house-space but find it profitable to trade ilegal cargo.
It is unfair to other people who trade, work hard - mine ( not to mention that the trading routes are balanced ) get pirated/killed.
There is no defensive ground to the barge so people should stop abusing the ship.
I found Cannon's post on the barge but I don't see any progress in that thread, and quite frankly.. because of his post, people jump-trade even more as long as they can.
I am not trying to deny anyone using the barge, but I do believe in responding to it in kind, esp when it comes to abuse.
Barges are expensive, stupidly massive, near impossible to fly, incredibly slow.... Really their only use is jump trading. Take that away and they are pointless. I don't use them, but all the power to those who do. Also cooperative game play is needed to do this. Often three or more ships, so that's a lot more player interaction than many trade runs I have done.
How about making it into a drone if possible? Plot in a course and have it slowly edge its way through space - it would then be up to players to protect it, and up to pirates to blast and loot it.
Problem is that most players with a barge are smart enough to either jump it or go off plane so they rarely get caught / whacked. I'd like to change that by not having players piloting it. There's that autopilot script out there already.
I am not one who jumps ores in a barge, but i do jump basic alloys and would really hate not to be able to do it anymore. Sadly, any measure taken to combat powertrading mineable commodities in barges would affect those of us who use it for role play or base supply. So no, i do not want barges to be banned from jumping, and agree with safe haven. The fairest thing is to make them available in the market. Anyone who has flown one knows that this wouldn't mean the death of transport trading.

+1 - I wish u guys well with the barge, i got no problem with people like the TAZ cuz i know a few of you guys and you use it as it should be, in RP and fair.
But it seems that other barge holders don't act the same, and sadly it reflects on you guys as well.
So we should either make it public, or to limit the abuser.

Could you link to Cannon's post? I'd be interested in seeing it. It's a shame as there are several groups who do good RP with their barge or jump very rarely. Us for instance, I think we've done 5 jumps to Bretonia with ours since we got it, which was 4-5 months ago or something.
As for how to fix the problem with those that abuse it, I dunno what you are wantign to do. As with any nerf it affects those who use it right to. Making it open for sale I can't imagine would help, only make it worse with more lolwut barges about.
I suggest you take a long hard look at the forum rules and make time for some careful consideration next time you post Tel-Aviv. Past few posts have been hidden, carry on.
The same goes for those of you posting your silly +1's or trying to bait him into a reaction. How about we have a sensible discussion for once instead of acting like fools.
