Bonjour,
we have had a private communication leaving only two interested parties.

The decision has been difficult with both parties having merit and it is a pity two stations were not being sold off.

Martin Vernier you approach and information is commendable however we have very slight concerns that your goals may be unobtainable especially with the current attitude that Bretonia and its allied house, Liberty have shown us. Our scientists have also suggested that this base, within a heavy nebula and with such close neighbours and a jump gate is likely to thwart your instrumentation and deep space scanning intentions. If a new deep space facility becomes available then first call will go to your corporation. In a similar vein if you choose to build a bespoke station then the crown will waive the registration fees and permit charges.

This leaves Senateur Vincent Gardon and the organisation you represent. This has caused a great deal of discussion and it is with trepidation that we proceed with this sale. However, the war effort is occupying a large percentage of our best pilots and our police force is spread thinly. Consequently the offer of keeping your eyes open is intriguing. Of course we are not sanctioning a para-military style vigilante force but we would welcome more information. This consequently leads us to ask if the following conditions are acceptable as part of the current way forward.

Whilst we acknowledge your desire to work with the Crown the next few points may be useful to avoid any misunderstanding, especially regarding what we are about to throw into the mix.

Whilst it is assumed you already do the following, as you have the Crown at heart, it would be useful if any evidence of GMS, EFL or IDF named ships operating against the interests of legitimate Crown activity are reported as swiftly as possible. Of course any ships with official livery of our legitimate visitors would also be offered the same courtesy and we would be unhappy if any interaction became remotely heavy handed. Treating our legitimate guests as you would our official Gallics would be appreciated.

Which leads us to the request mentioned earlier and linked to your own suggestion. The police are reporting a high level of forged pilot licence and registration papers, extra vigilance for these vessels, and encouragement to avoid Gallia would be useful. In particular the removal of cryocubes through Orkney and the Taus is becoming worrisome.

If these appear in line with your current practice and you are willing to follow the standard base operating procedures linked to docking, inspection etc., found here including not setting automatic platforms to fire at GRN, GRP or Gallic corporations the all that is needed for security codes is the appropriate payment to Banque.de.Gallia

Ah, bonjour once more,

My condolences to Monsieur Vernier, but also my well wishes in your endeavours. Perhaps if you are willing to overlook your prejudices we could work together in some way.

Now, to business. With the base in our hands, it will remain open to our lawful forces. Supply of the base can be handled by the Corse however, so no need to invite the corporations out into the cloud just yet. I am pleased to send the payment to cover the transfer of control of the base to the Corse:

I appear to have been misunderstood in my offer, which was originally to provide Noir ships and perhaps weaponry for our Royal Police pilots to use (after a small processing fee of course) so that more ships could be sent to the front. However, the request to assist in the policing of our border fits well with our current activities. Anything we see that is deemed worthy of reporting to the Crown shall be, and if possible shall be stopped at the time. Foreign assets welcomed by the Crown will be treated as requested, as they have been up to the present.

Bonsoir et merci!

Regards,
Senateur Vincent Gardon

Bonjour,

This is . . . disappointing. I must confess the reasoning behind this decision is beyond my comprehension, and that the sale of this base to a Unione Corse representative comes as no small surprise to myself and my affiliates. I can only hope that in time, the suspicion I have held the Senateur in will prove baseless.

Yet however large or small a setback this may come to be, I respect and acknowledge the wishes of the crown. If nothing else, I appreciate the thoughtful consideration you have shown my organization's offer.

Warmest Regards,
-Martin Vernier

Bonjour Martin Vernier,
we are aware of the reputation and we also "hope that in time, the suspicion I have held the Senateur in will prove baseless" time will tell. It was the resources of their operation that swung the balance and we hope you take no ill feelings from our decisions. The crown was impressed wih your organisation howevr, the war is diverting resources and any sizeable help is appreciated, hence the Corse involvement.

Senateur Vincent Gardon, we feel you may have slightly misread the conditions, with this statement ""so no need to invite the corporations".

Inspections need only be granted to GRN and police vessels, the instruction concerning corporations were "not setting automatic platforms to fire at GRN, GRP or Gallic corporations". We recognise that for various reasons cooperations have no rights to land on your base, similarily we would expect UC to not interfere with neighbouring bases or impede their transactions.

We hope this avoids any future complications.
