Yeah, I've never seen the reason for this. It would just cause boring repetitive RP, that no one likes. Kudos to the idea, and the action of removing this.

Please do this. This is the only legitimate usage of set messages in my opinion, but it's a very, very important one. Please don't make things more difficult for /everyone/ because some people were abusing set messages, I can see the idea behind removing them, but Reid's suggestion fixes both the abuse problem and the one that removing them altogether will create. Thanks.

Great. I know it was made for reducing number ot /l1 /l1 engage, but that is not fair to people who use them propoerly.
Really, its easy to make everyone to use 2-3 stmsgs limit for emergency situations. Why killing whole setmsg system...
Damn it, I just made 50 setmsgs for my 10 chars just a week ago T_T
I had nearly all my chars equipped with setmsgs, that kind of identification, combat motivational and dead messages, when your ship explodes and similar, when in time of fight you cant really stop and type something... but all in all i approve this, its ok

I like... oh wait.
Anyways... What would the admin stance be on people using third party applications and macro scripts for the same purpose from now on? It's rather easy to write a macro that types in the same setmsgs in the chatbox, and still allows the user to type in 3 lines in half a second and engage. Would it be considered under 2.1 as now it'd mean using an app to do something not provided by the game itself?
But that aside, despite the amount of tears to be mopped up, I strongly support this move*. Well played.
* I myself had setmsgs on all my chars, mainly used for calling targets and announcing coords and whatnot in group chat during fights, and I've seen a lot of people using setmsgs properly and not to go around the RP requirement before engagement, but I'm sure those who care about the quality of their RP would easily adjust to this change, and only those who've lost their free ticket to brainless PvP will be the ones heavily hit by this restriction.
