Do stories have to be about ingame characters, or can they be about characters made exclusively for the story?

Can be about anything. So long as the story fits within the scope of the Discovery mod and is appropriate to the selected theme, anything goes.

You can even get a bit fruity with Discovery lore, if you go down the abstract metaphor route.

I wanna see someone make some Nomad stories. Cause I bet there will be a few about trading.. maybe about pirating.. but how many about Nomads?

I may try this, though I have college commitments and such and 5000 words is pretty big. Considering it's RP based as well that's a lot of thought.

Guess it's time to put my high English Language grades to the test.

A very nice idea. I have been waiting so long for such an idea like this.

Unfortunately my language skills lacks me from the participation but good luck for everybody and kudos for those who brainstormed it.

More of these could be very welcomed.

Please don't be disheartened if you are not a native English speaker. The focus of our judging will be to examine the actual content of the story, its exploration of the theme, and presentation of characters. Your story just needs to be understandable - I am not expecting to need a dictionary while reading it. As your message above demonstrates, you are capable of communicating a message clearly, so why not try your hand at writing?

About the competition, is it possible to attach artwork or illustrations to the short story, you know for immersion and such
