In a way 90% of the bases are used ooRP. No data what so ever on the forums, only a mere approval from some house for example. Nevertheless rulewise if i would say ingame towards a base im gonna destroy you the only thing it could do is to defend itself where possible. And IF lucky it gets support from forces (base owner and friends) to safe it. In a way its like a player, you hope to get support or well rather die due to the overwhelming forces.

And it's true, I am just being categorical here on the forum for the sake of discussion. When there are no rules governing how bases are operated and how they are destroyed and how caps should be operated and destroyed; one is as good as the other.
When snubs can gank caps 10 on 1, caps can gank snubs 10 on 1. When bases can kill players indiscriminately, bases should themselves be subject to random acts of aggression.
There's a certain trend here on the forum that one is fine and the other is not, but rules-wise there's nothing to back that up; and I think it's important to point that out, even if only for the discussion.
I don't shoot bases myself, and I only gank when I am on a snub, so I more or less follow the unwritten guidelines for "proper conduct", I just think we have moved beyond a certain point where some people - intentionally or not - take advantage of that so called "proper conduct" to further their own cause at the expense of other players.
I think we need a balance, hence part of my sympathy go out to groups like ZA and Bass Hunters.
I'm not mad at anyone or anything... but this is basicly "MY" opinion, and its just that, an "OPINION"....
WE NEED PLAYERS TO STOP KILLING FOR LAUGHS, STOP PIRATING FOR OUTRAGEOUS AMOUNTS, START ROLE PLAYING AND HAVE FUN, NOT THE FUN THAT MAKES YOU LAUGH AND THE OPOSITION COMPLETELY ENRAGED. THIS IS A ROLE PLAY SERVER. THAT ENTAILS ROLEPLAYING.
Which brings me back to my origional post, the question asked was, "What is the understandable, logical, and deep rooted in role play reason for these Bass Hunters to go around on completely unaffiliated, mismatched ships kiling completely unaffiliated stations in every corner of sirius?"
Oh look, It's Vispilio/Morbius/Widow all over again, as most Bretonians players should be familiar with their griefing playstyle with little regard for roleplay plausibility and fairplay. If there's a way to ruin someone's day and get players to quit, they seem to be the first to take it. Only now, they've taken it to a new low. Not much of a surprise to me, but probably to the players who deserved a better end to the work they put into their bases.

Well as you also did meantion bretonia (and im now just TOO lazy to quote that part too) I wonder what was going on with the officials at that time.. Its easy to point out fingers to others, but instead people forget to look at themselves what THY did wrong. In the end its just a Domino Effect in wich everyone plays a part in.

I'm not sure what you're referring to. If it's about that Manchester base that was blown up from within - Firstly, I had nothing to do with that story and I'm pretty sure neither did the people behind this "basekiller group". Secondly, while I don't agree with the way that whole story went, there was actual roleplay and the motivations were different than "LOL we take legate and valor to kyushu and blow up base because we can!!1!". I see no reason to compare the two cases.

Pretty much sums it up.
I see a "faction" consisting out of characters/ships from all kinds of factions, with no relation and even hostility between each other, blowing up bases "because they can", with no RP about it. While I still think "if you don't supply it, you can expect it to blow up" ("Not the attackers kill a base, the suppliers do."), it shouldn't mean this kind of gameplay should be acceptable. Though the question is, if a GMG base in Sigma-13 for example runs out of supplies, is it ok for OC or Corsair caps to come by and just kill it? What if about a Freelancer base which is not hostile to Liberty in Kepler or Galileo, does there need to be RP before it?
Sadly, due to such things like pointed out here, even more rules are necessary. Because we have a lot of people around, who just can't deal with having freedoms in regards to such.
