In late '10, every official lawful faction leader of Liberty and their 2ic were invited to be a part of the newly formed oorp group designed to deal with Liberty politics.
As you can see, more than half of those factions have faltered or are about too.
Currently, the government consists of [LN], LPI|, (editted) =LSF=, loneshark from the dying [*USI*] and Max and Champ (Echo 7_7 & Champ from the dead official Ageira faction)
And thus, this leaves the fate of all diplomacy and in house politics solely up to a once-was faction leaders, a dead faction but mostly under [LN]'s thumb.
Now, DSE) had it's chance many a time, and as a prominent official faction in Liberty, we're constantly denied any part of the way things are run simply because they don't like me. It's fine, it's not unexpected and too be fair, I don't like many of them either.
The point here is that why is it some players with 'once-was' attitudes allowed to be the representatives of all our factions as a House with out actually consulting the official factions who do more than enough (and often far more) to support the roleplay of the entire House.
More so, the time it takes for things to actually get done by them is generally left to the weekends when they can be bothered doing it.
So here is a suggestion: Make a political party to contend with the leading body and continue with how the democracy should be. Shared amongst the prominent figures of Liberty, official or not.
Thoughts and opinions.
If they are negative, off topic or plain slandering I'll have your posts removed.
The Interspace Commerce supports their parent company, DSE) for their push into liberty diplomacy. DSE) is the only really active trading faction within Liberty at the time. IC| sometimes travels through but let's speak realities, If you need a base, who can build it? DSE). Need money fast? DSE can mine and haul. Need outside supplies? DSE) can get most of them.
Liberty Navy has the protection. The brute strength. I give them that. DSE) has the economical strength. In order to ensure that opinions are taken under consideration, DSE) should have a say in liberty. Look at DSE)'s contracts with all their base building. Some of those bases wouldn't be here without DSE).
If you have your head so far up your ass that you can't see DSE) holds up a good chunk of liberty, yet they don't have a say in much of anything. I can understand rheinland doing that, but even they have trading factions within the high command of rheinland.
Seriously guys, it's been like this for too long. In order to have a true democracy inRP, shouldn't the strongest of the factions be present? Shit has been too complacent for too long. Without change, disco will sink even farther, and the new players will have misdirection because the old leaders who never log, can't give out commands, and the chain of command is then passed down to people who weren't trained proper and thus train those under them the incorrect ideas and methods of disco.
It's not that hard. DSE) has the activity and leadership skills to make important choices. Stop hating people ooRP and sack up. Anyone can see that if change isn't presented, (Not only in liberty) then disco will just die out. Change keeps people interested, and DSE) can bring that change that people will be interested in.
From what I understood, when a leader was inactive. We would just kick them out and put a new one up. AKA the faction is ran by the people, the leaders just make important choices for the faction, because it's not the fact the faction can't make the choices, it's that the faction trust the leaders enough to make the choices for them.
That's pretty much it. I'll add more as I sit and think.
Would it really have been that hard to approach the people (whom you obviously know of) on skype to talk about it instead of posting this to the forums to make Libgov look like the bad guys or something?
I'd like to simply point one thing out to you, and you can disagree with me if you wanna do so, you're entitled to that.
Just because The Liberty Navy [LN] is the most visible group enforcing "Government Policy" in game, does not mean that we take any more a leading role in policy decisions than any other group that makes up "Lib Gov".
I (as leader of [LN]) never post as any of the various "government minister" characters created by Lib Gov.
I never post anything on behalf of the Liberty Navy [LN] that could effect overall Libertonian Diplomacy, without first consulting other relevant members of the "Liberty Government". (Ex: Why would the Navy talk to corporate reps about defense policy.)
My opinion, as leader of the [LN], doesn't factor in any more than any other representative, at least not as far as I can tell, in general talks and decision making.
So, I hope that clears that notion up a bit, but if it doesn't: The Liberty Navy [LN] is NOT the sole driving force behind inRP Libertonian Policy or Diplomacy matters.
As for your notion about bringing others into Lib Gov and widening the "representative body" so to speak, we do that all the time.
As for the idea of allowing unofficial groups anywhere near official policy, diplomacy, or decision making that guides the "future of Liberty" -- No, just no.
Official Factions are the guiding force on Discovery, they are the ones who guide diplomacy and faction lore developments, and that's the way it's always been.
Would you really want a group of players like those in say, the CGS, allowed anywhere near lore-changing or diplomacy changing decisions?

I had tried. Asked Max two weeks ago about it. He simply said "I'll ask" at the end of a heated discussion as to why I shouldn't be in it, thus already discrediting any other bodies of DSE). This is why bring it here. I even offered Widow to enter and simply got "I'll look into it" Generally, in Max terms that's "I'll put it at the bottom of my care pile" In getting absolutely no response, I assumed that we're not welcome.

I beg to differ, the reason being that if the oorp group is designed to be non-faction affiliated characters, then why was it under Joes rule that it was highly encouraged that all of us as players made the decisions on such matters.
Now it's simply put that most are lazy and it's left for [LN] to pick up the slack.

When I maintained the bounty board, It was consistent and almost weekly. I did that as part of the Governments finance or internal treasury character. Why is now that it's perceived as "Oh, you're in DSE), you have no idea about policies and diplomacy nor national security"?

Platinum| is a highly endorsed and well maintained faction who represents the mining division of DSE. Why in gods name would I even consider suggesting that members of CGS be involved? I was referring to professional Liberty Lawful factions who are well established. Platinum| deal with a load more international relations than we do (As well as a cool headed leadership)
Why is it so hard to consider that because these guys cannot get official they should be instantly discarded? Example only.
