All I can imagine is the Bretona BS would have to be beefed up to compete with the Valor...
This would make room for a Light Carrier... but this does not make sense to me...
As I said earlier increased firepower isnt the answer as most BS's and Carriers and Cruisers have way to many guns as it is...
4.87 needs a stonger storyline and focused goal and maybe most mods have lost their focus. Otherwise this mod loses it place and I fear Strategy and Goal achieving is being lost to the Shoot em up sort of game. I for one will start to lose interest if thats is all this game takes this route....
Carriers don't have too many guns. The only hilariously over-hardpointed carrier is the Liberty one, and last time I flew one, its arcs were absolutely horrible.
It has an abundance of guns because it NEEDS an abundance of guns.
Damn i was really hoping for a -playable- bretonian carrier. Guess ill have to wait another few years for it.

Some mysteries defy understanding, and sometimes even the things we think we know are untrue. Some secrets should remain untouched.
There is one craft no mod has todate has or has mastered... its the massive ship the TNG Enterprise encountered at Rhana4 created by the Doud being (its a bit like an arrow head, Sarissa and Zepher combined).. this craft is clean, very elegant had a very different way to discharge its weapons to other craft so would be a must for any new mod... The new weapons discharge approach is also a must, something radical...

There will be a -playable- bretonian carrier but it wont be available instantly during the first weeks of 4.87. There are few RP stages which we planned about Southampton Shipyard as well as the carrier which are going to take some time before they are implemented. The plan to implement that carrier was to bring it as NPC prototype inside the shipyard and in later update to become a playable ship. In that way, inRP, the players around will see that this carrier is under construction and once "few of them" are ready, then they can become playable.
(The current carrier that jinx have posted is the prototype while the original ship is going to be modified and balanced before becoming a playable one. That may take some time and its entirerly up to the devs. In short the current model is not the final one.)

And not only the engine... The ship should look "bad" or somehow odd because of the limited resources and time. It should not be perfect nor looking "fantastic" like a new toy for bretonia fleet...in fact it should represent the hardworking efforts of the shipyard to build few for limited time with minimum resources.

That is simply impossible in RP because Bretonia would have approximately ~ 10-15 bs remaining and most of them are going to be part of NL fleet. Not to mention that southampton is NOT building dunkirks as a priority because of the time and resources plus...they are not effective due to their limited numbers against the *150 valors. That is why Bretonia is about to build few carriers to "carry" their remaining bombers (which happends to be thousands) in order to do their best annihilating as many valors as possible with quick "Hit-and-Run" tactics. That is far more better than building dunkirks which would only end up as debris field around. That is why few carriers, escorted with the remaining Dunkirks would be a stronger "core" than a fleet consisting of only battleships.
Fallenknight...your points are well taken however im unsure if the mix will work... I still think Gaul is overpowering...Bretonia will be overun unless the balance of the caps are readressed (increased or decreased firepower).
@WildHorse, you are pointing at ship balance issues which have nothing to do with ingame Rp nor lore. The "balance of the caps" remains in the hands of the devs. No matter how strong the bretonian ships may become, in theory, that will not afflict the lore and wont change anything about its progress. The carrier for example have a huge RP background and is not "another ship in the arsenal build for fun". In the distant future it may not be the perfect ship ingame but in RP/Lore progress it will help the bretonian fleet.

I see, thank you for clearing that up. I love the way you thought that one out.
