I know it's not entirely your fault but maybe hold a forum-wide vote? If the majority is a decent percentage (say, about 75% or something) on not having them back then go with that?
Or, erase the database and have people start fresh on base building.
When was the last backup made?
I have a bunch of stuff I really don't want to lose due to the effort in getting the money for them.
I really don't see why we need a rollback. I mean, we haven't seen any detrimental effects to the game play right?
And in my eyes, if we rollback it means the hackers have kind of won; they succeed in gaining mad and anger from people because their effort in making ships and trading would be gone.
It is relatively recent the activity that messed things up, at least, it seems. So I wouldn't expect a big roll back, just a couple days so far. The mess is messy is all and can be made messy right away after the roll back unless we figure out a way to put a block on the shenanigans.
In other words our 'friends' aren't finished with us yet.
The 'victory' you are trying to allude to pales in comparison to their goal which we are trying to keep them from accomplishing. The closing of Discovery.
