I know, most of us love to focus on the negative news at the moment.
But: Have you realized? The server did not crash and did not lag really hard when yesterday's Cap forces clashed. I would say... 6 Valors, 3 Cruisers on one side, About the same numbers on the other side. I'd guess up to 15-20 ships in one system.
And... the server pulled through.
So whatever Devs changed... big engagements seem to be possible again.
That is....not really large.
Considering what happened a few weeks back in Alpha. OCs vs Corsiars, IMG, Order and BHG.
Crashed 3 times.

I don't think PoBs really caused the lag. They were only responsible when they were under siege by X battleships.
And: Yesterday's Magellan Capfighting made the server stutter and moan, but it pulled through. I cannot say however how many caps there were, but there were quite a few again.
I believe the major "lag-reducing measure" as described by AD was the complete overhaul of cap hitboxes (and some lesser changes to smaller ones) which were actually a significant portion of server load.
