I think you need to chill right now ok ? If this was a fucked up "blatant plagiarism" I wouldn't use the same name for the model as the pic had and I wouldn't SHOW the image I used to make the model, don't you think ? It's exactly why I showed them, to avoid this kind of "feedback". First of all I do not know who is the creator of this concept and second I was contacted and asked nicely by someone in your own community to make this exact model, otherwise I wouldn't have wasted my time making this ship. And that's all there is to it. You like it, fine, you don't, throw it away. Good bye.

Right... the person who actually made that ship you copied from goes by the forum name of Dartstriker, whom I know for a fact the SCRA are aware of, as they originally commissioned him to do that model. He was just on skype yesterday, and it would not have been impossible to get.
It was short sighted and in poor taste to recreate somebody else's mesh without crediting them or attempting to contact them first, particularly when (within the Discovery community and certainly within the SCRA) it is common knowledge who the creator of the original was.
Ultimately it's up to Dartstriker what to do about it, but the whole thing leaves a bad taste in my mouth and I wouldn't accept the content into the mod unless he clears it.
I guess that's what I get for trying to help out. Lesson learned. No worries mate, next time I get an email with a request from Discovery I'll delete the email on the spot. I'm not even gonna bother reading it., cause who knows, maybe after I make the model you ask I'll be accused of "blatant plagiarism", it's a wild theory but it could happen.
Please feel free to delete my account here, I won't be using it any further.
Thank you and have a nice day.

You're overreacting and it's clear that you don't understand how things work here. the SCRA or any other factions do not choose what work gets accepted into the mod and nor do I. That is for the developement team to decide. In my opinion however I wouldn't accept plagiarized work. I'd have absolutely no issue if this was an original model, or if Dartstriker's consent had been given.
But hey... if you want to flip out over an incident which you clearly did not fully understand and ask to have your account deleted, that's cool too.
Yeah, I contacted Dartstriker MONTHS ago to see if he had the original model and if not if we could re-create it.
He said (as displayed in the mail) that he would be happy to forward anything he had to us on it. Unfortunately it seems that the model had been lost for reasons not specified so we contracted somebody to re-create the model.
it appears this is simply a case of unfortunate mis-information as the HC forgot to inform him that this model is not meant for him to claim as an original idea. Still the fact remains is we now have a model which still needs to be prepared. X_X
EDIT: Btw here's a READABLE version of the mail JD posted. >_> Dart PM
