- For the main TB body, don't use that blue weird looking BG. Why don't u take some space picture with a planet or start or nebula and insert it in there. For better quality, use the biggest size available and shring it down to fit, then cut it into the shape of the TB body.
- Work on the border of the main TB body add a gradient, change that white bevel color, use different light angle and contour.
- Text window can be 35% transparent, it would make it look like a glass, use different color and lightning on it.
- Change text font and size
- Use same technique on the character's window, use same border, bevel, stroke, etc on it.
- Add different background for the character, maybe a cutout of a space station interior
- Glass on top of the character picture needs to be more transparent
- Add a different background to the rotating ship, make it rotate in space if u can, if not, perhaps rotting model needs to go, cuz that turquoise color sucks donkey's 00 .
Pretty much use the same style on the bottom part of the TBs, but make the shape a little different.
As I said, u can do better, u got the skills, don't be to lazy.
Cheers for the points mate. I'll put some more time into it when I get my new PC (Old one is no longer in existence). I didn't put a massive amount of time in as I have RL work commitments most of the time (beauties of forces...)/getting ready to go on leave. I'll see how much better I can make it.
@Legendary (No need to pay any more or anything, personally I would like to get it to the standard (Or at least close to) that Makc_RU produces, feel free to use it now but I will be making a better one as soon as work/new PC allows. Cheers for your support though.
- Work on the blue color. It is too simple. Add a picture as a background.
- Add a stroke gradient, make it 1-2 pixels outside, make it look fancy.
- Don't use inner bevel too much, You are trying to make/draw/model an object, in this case a device, which transmits/receives messages. So, the device should be sticking out, not being "sucked" into itself. Instead of inner bevvel, use 1 flat surface, add some pic as BG, gradient, whatever, and on top of that use outer bevel. If you have a cell phone, take a look at it and you will see what I mean.
- The blue screen is good, but it is a little too empty. If you want to have a screen there, add some rivets or connecting parts, which will tie the screen with the main body. Or you can have 2 pipes behind the screen (the pipes will be visible because screen will have transparency) or you can have couple of wires. Or you can add a frame at the bottom, making a screen incorporated into the body.
- Add some inner shadows, inner/outer glows. (this part comes with experience, it takes a while to get a hand on what looks good and what not)
- You are getting to the point where you have modeled your main body. Now it is time for you to dress it up, play with shadows, adding little rivets, corners, cutouts, whatever.
- On the Character screen, to make it fancy you can add a green triangle (playing) and Signal: 100% Make the image a little more contrasty, perhaps add little grain/noise. (black and white only, 5-8-10%)
- Bottom right part of the main body with that silver/grey "whatever it is" look fine. Use similar technique on the rest of the body to dress it up, add some mystery to it
