.......Big weapons, which drain a lot of energy and doesn't hit small targets. Bomber will dodge the battleship's guns or even go to a point that player with battleship just can't hit him because of arcs. Battleship can't dodge the torpedoes - just in few cases, with favourable for BS moments.
Exactly that was the question, for what would they have invented those big guns, energy cores...*scratches his head* ....let's see...*still scratches his head..!!
,,Stop going an all prims/cerbs loadout then and put on some flaks. Bomber torps are in a limited number, drain him out of them. ,, yeah well sometimes i also assume too much, np.
Battleships are just huge beasts, but they can't do much without their fighter cover. Of course, they can fight equally with other capital ships (at most points), but if the other side have even just one bomber - the battleship is just doomed (except the moment when bomber is lead by the unexperienced pilot, like me - yet it might bring more distraction to 1vs1 combat).
If you don't believe me, try battleship vs battleship with one bomber on Conneticut.
YOU still didn't answer!!! whi 1 BS and a bomber? whi not just 2 bombers since as you already said the BS is inferior to the bomber? So?
I edited my post up. And I haven't say that ONE bomber may own battleship (but in the experienced hands it may). I just said that battleships has big weapons. Big weapons, which drain a lot of energy and doesn't hit small targets. Bomber will dodge the battleship's guns or even go to a point that player with battleship just can't hit him because of arcs. I know there are flaks (and I have them), but imagine BS vs BS and Bomber. I'm just try to point out that battleship is rather designed to fight other, equal or smaller caps. But bombers? These should be pwnd by fighter escort or another vessel that is designed to take these down. There is old saying: "If something is for everything, it is good for nothing." The fewer anti-cap weapon means that ship is weaker in cap-cap combat - at least this is how I see it.

If no caps why fly bombers? Lets all just revert to the vanilla freelancer with only fighters. /sarcasm
Why should you get a cap? Because if he have a few flaks you won't be able to even come close to him to fire a SNAC, and he'll take out your novas with ease too.

You still doesn't get my point. You simply doesn't understand the example, since sometimes battles are waged with caps.
I just pointed out scenario, where two caps meets, but one cap has bomber on its side. Which one wins then? The outcome is simple, the situation favours the side with additional bomber. Except the scenario, where the cap without bomber has a fighter on his side. Then fighter makes bomber busy and caps can pew at each other on the odd terms.
Or maybe I'm just dumb and I don't understand the idea of this topic, do I?
It is somewhat counter-productive that this mod's strategy for enticing new players is to get them on the grind to see what's next (like most other games, there's a "game" component where you can "level up" and yes that does matter for the individual player - even to the snub purists that almost all use ships with the best and most expensive equipment available), only to reach the "end-game" and be ez-mode pwned by bombers flown by vets or by noobs that have been informed how the Disco balance is heavily tipped in favor of snubcraft.
It's not very rewarding to the player, and if you look at Disco as any other computer game, a rather poor design choice. Shield/damage types could have been assigned etc., there were a lot of other ways to reduce the risk of caps being too powerful, but the current choice makes a mockery of those players that invested hours in grinding, thinking they were playing the game "right". Somewhere down the line I guess some groups decided that it has to be "either/or" and pitted snub pilots against cap pilots as if they were two different breeds of players altogether, which is a totally BS, and I figure that's why caps will never get a proper solution/balancing.
It might be appealing to some vets and those noobs under instructions, but really it's not the best way of keeping new players that might not really be overly fond of the decade-old vanilla gameplay interested.
It's funny because all these qqers are apparently dying to one bomber against their cap like. Guess this shows you the average skill level of a Discovery cap pilot lol.
Honestly, Lyth, I'm no PVP expert, extremely far from it, but I have fought your Scylla as well as a handful of your VHF's, and I can without a shred of doubt say that you suck terrifically at PVP, so perhaps you should not drop those kinds of comments. There are legitimate balance issues regarding caps.
