Not really...
I personally calculate my e-peen based on the length of my RP posts and not blue messages
This.
Yet I still fear we are a minority in the community who value RP over blues.

There is hope! Please... keep hold of this attitude. Fight, win, lose, explode, cause explosions... Whatever. There's never shame in losing, and there's not that much pride in winning. Use that attitude to help you treat people fairly in game. Fight on equal terms and enjoy it.

Quality would be a better gauge. It doesn't matter how long a post is, but rather whether or not it's a good read. Same as PvP... Doesn't matter how many or how few bluemsgs you get, provided the folks in the fight had a good time.
Infact, I'd say calculating your e-peen's size is pretty much not what anything should be done for, ever... Nor should people really bother measuring it. "I'm doing this because it earns me points in an imaginary competition yadda blah"... Urgh... How dull.
Also, for those who still think PvP and RP are opposites, I'd refer you to Dieter Schprokets' avatar...
Without PvP, all your RP interactions would reduce themselves to "hello, goodbye" status, nothing would have any context, there would be no tension, no risk, nothing to struggle against... Your RP, for all its flowery language, would be deathly boring.
Without RP, all your bluemsgs would be lacking in context. There would be no purpose to it... no story to tell, just endless "ye, go, good fight", forever... Y'know why a lot of the PvP servers disappeared? Because after a while it gets boring. The reason this server still exists is because it can put freelancer's excellent combat into some kind of fictional context. It makes it mean something.
They support one another, they complete one another, they rely upon one another. Don't knock either...
Don't regard RP as some sort of more holy form of something or other (you know who you are)... That's arrogant stuff and you know it.
Don't regard RP as some sort of spineless airy-fairy nonsense, which gets in the way of all the gunfire... That's a stupid and arrogant position as well.
Everytime I get a blue, it's like I virtually ejaculate onto the screen and the stain is blue letters (red for everyone else).
I make a fuss, because kills are rate for me. I'm hardly the best, nor decent, maybe not even average. But I like the sense of achievement.
I recently got out of piracy by paying 100k instead of the 1 mill and then talking my way out of the rest. It felt at least as good as usually a blue would feel. It's not the loss of others, it's your victory, which is important.
Dunno.
Freelancer, despite our RP orientated community still remains a space trading and combat simulator and by its very nature- a competitive game. Blue messages are a feedback for your efforts to learn the whole combat part of our Roleplay and Trading and Combat Simulator.

Now think that the pirate had no guns or CD to halt you. Now you'll get the vibes of what Joe means.
