Dev Notice of sorts:
Player Owned Bases will be adjusted with update 6 to become easier to build and maintain so these new rule implementations don't become yet another burden on base owners. Shield protection on said bases will also be reduced to 96% so the bases above core 2 don't become partially invincible. To give you a rough idea on the adjustments made for the new update: POBs will become 2x easier to maintain and 4x easier to destroy.
Core 4 Base Repair per second =
(60,000 * 3 * 4) / 20 = 36,000
Heavy Battleship Sustained DPS through shields @ 96% protection =
300,000 * 0.41 * 0.04 = 4,920
Number of Heavy Battleships required to get through a Core 4 Base's repairs =
36,000 / 4,920 = ~7.32

GG.
We don't just pull numbers out of our keisters -- this was a decision made by several members of the administration and development teams working together to find a ground between "basically indestructible" and "basically made of matchsticks".
So what's the point to work and build core 4 unlawful base (or lawful for that meter) if it can't be defended?

Quote: If players/factions wish to keep their Core 1 bases intact, they will be forced to either hide them in remote locations or make deals with other players to stock, and or, defend their base. Role play may not be an actual rule requirement for building them, but players may find it necessary to RP with others in order to keep them from being destroyed.

You can put defense platforms up, use your own group ships, or have allies assist you.
If none of those three can defend your base adequately, maybe you shouldn't have one?
Core 4 base hitpoints = 24,000,000
Once repairs have been neutralized, damage per second of one additional battleship = 4,920
Time to actually destroy a core 4 base, in minutes =
24000000 / 4920 = 4878 seconds = 81.3 minutes
A little over an hour of sieging.
That's with a theoretical "8.3" heavy Battleships. With the actual feasible number of 9, it's about half that time.
Do you think you can cover a base around the clock to the extent that you'll be able to respond in time to a siege that's over in 80 minutes?
I can answer that question. No.
Of course, how a Core 2 base with far less hitpoints that also happens to die to half the number of battleships is supposed to ever make it to core 4 in the first place is.. A mystery, too.

This would apply to all Cores actually.
I'm sorry,i was not precise,i meant core 4 bases that already exist, unlawful in house space. They can't be moved, easy to destroy regardless of any rp with anyone(supply or defense)...

What stops me and a few friends sitting up late one night and wait until the Server is low on activity and then just as we arrive at the base post a RP thread and then destroy it. We will be sitting down to breakfast by the time somebody realises that his base is gone.
How many Bases are actually going to survive and reach Core 3?
And if the Official Factions get their backsides in gear, by the time the update is implemented they will have their SRP requests ready and those Bases that are problematic will be Core 5, very quickly afterwards, and be INVULNERABLE. So other than stopping anybody else ever building a Base what have you achieved?
'I would like to be half as clever as some people like to believe they are' Life is full of disappointments, it is how we handle them that helps to define us, as a person

Haste has your numbers. Months of flying time, and a lot of good roleplay for many bases...
... wiped out by 10 BS in 30 minutes of attack.
People have jobs that keep them occupied for a few hours.
Every trollgroup can gather 10.
Even I can gather 10 now, if I wanted.
That's bullshit.
If you want all the base gone form the mod, at least be honest, tell us and we will cope with it.
Doing it that way, by pulling a number from somewhere to make it look like "you had your chance" is just bad.
