It was a learning process (on all sides, I assume) to find out how much POBs it would change gameplay. And yes, they did it quite a lot, not always with fully positive consequences.
Hmmm... ye. I guess I'll ask Falster to be moved, as deconstruction of guns has become impossible with the new base stuff. A few k further away from the lanes, so it does not shell the lane path any more. But there is little more I can offer, to be honest. Falster is also a very logical development irp-wise, but we are talking gameplay here, and ye... it suffered. I agree.

Come on. Logical inrp faction development is only logical for those in favor of the change. It's doubtful favor though for we have threads like that popping up.

But why do you ask "faction X"? Maybe it's more logical to ask actual player community why do they ignore the said NPC factions or areas? Because all factions here are filled with players and players are able to move around the factions with ease. So if there is no players mean there are more interesting places to be at, more interesting factions to interact with, better environment to have fun at. It's simple.
A little example to give you a rough idea:
Currently I see a lot of people sitting in conn, like 30% of all players online sometimes or more, with some individuals here whining to remove it (conn) to "force" those players to fly in regular space. But why do they stick to conn while there are many beautiful systems outside of conn? Because they can't get what they want outside of conn maybe? Like a fair duel maybe? Like a friendly atmosphere maybe? Like a normal balanced fight maybe? Not to run into massive gay attitude festival maybe? All those wishes are legit and if people can't find it somewhere they are moving to the place where they can. Simple as that.

You'll never see for example Corsairs advancing in taking territory, or Mollys taking at least Dublin. You can just see lawfuls which have outside wars + inside house problems expanding.....

Believe me, I am aware of the problem. It is the reason why I made this thread, started the discussion.
And I will not change my pov that Falster's positioning has perfect irp justification.
It however - undeniably - poses problems for gameplay, and I have just requested it to be moved to Aland as a consequence. Then it's not an IMG-axis, but a big IMG Blob (Aland + Falster) and Freistadt 2 lanes further.
If the request is accepted, the O3-O7 Gate will get back its bottleneck character with no PoB in the area.
It's quite a disadvantage for my faction, actually, but I can't try and propose changes about the Omegas when discussion convinced me that my own base is one of the problems in it. So... let's get started.
You say Omegas lost their "Wild West" feeling, and partially it's true.
However, there are vanilla rumors from FP1 Zoners they're freaking out because Daumann and BMM are moving in to Omega-3, or IMG whining from Freistadt Daumann and Kruger set up their bases in O7. It's all continuation from vanilla lore.
Then where the problem is?
In vanilla, I was really afraid of flying to Rugen because Hessian and Corsair NPCs would tear my Clydesdale down in no time if I didn't escape.
Naturally in a multiplayer game NPCs shouldn't be major problem and it's very good they were nerfed. The problem is lack of active pirate groups.
Omega-7 lines were lengthened, piracy is actually easier there, but we're experiencing results of overall Disco activity problem. You're IMG Jack, contact Hessians and Mollys about O7/3, try to fund some sort of Zoner Omega-3 liberation terrorist movement... Omega-9 move was very good in that light, try to make some O7/3 resistance, use your faction's connections with local unlawfuls...
Houses move in to those systems, as it was in vanilla. Why there's no reaction and opposition from IMG side, only mising "good old Wild West times" on skype/forum? You told me once you'd like to create "Omega Freedom Front" (that was the name, yes?). Make it.

Just to reply Curios, he is right too, hessians are busy in Dresden, GRN fleet is knocking to Magellan/Cortez doors, why Corsairs can't have better standing in Bretonia and around it? Order funded construction of Bundschuh base in Bremen, Corsairs could help Gaians build base in Cambridge where senores could dock as well. More stuff for Gaians, more clashes with Mollys in Cambridge (they have base there too), Sairs have closer to core Bretonian systems, what means more raids...I see only pros here.

There is no problem with the development. I wrote that it is (more or less) logical. I do not want to revert it or something. I was looking for other ways to keep Omegas interesting.

Omega 9 rp is failing horribly due to the main factions that should be involved not even caring. I do not feel as if my efforts to create anything interesting were taken up by anybody but Order, BHG Core and Wilde. The main players in such a "struggle for the new system" rp are still missing.
With that effort barely surviving, I do not feel like putting up more. I am not the Omega game master that offers things that might perhaps find the taste of others. Sorry. My initiative is out there.

First the Pavel's comment is right on spot, people got used to same recipe for piracy over and over again that they Q_Q soon as something changes.
Personally as I corsair I can always ambush in Cambridge or Stuttgart, and it makes more sense for me inRP to not hunt in the middle of mining fields, such as avoiding patrols + why hurt the source of the income, hurt the haulers.
And lanes in Omega 7 are just as easy for pirate to hunt.
Jack I love your enthusiasm, and things you do overall for players and thinking on whole community and not just your faction ,kudos man. I tried to get some corsairs online for omega 9 thing, but of course nobody bothers to log in the game anymore. Its either forum or finding excuses what is wrong with the game.
Only main problem we have now is lag in fights, but problem for pirating ? I don't see one. Also, what's more attractive than pirating guy with bunch of ore

Yeah, attractivity for unlawfuls is important thing, especially nowadays. Hence suggesting Gaian base in Cambridge. It'd even make sense inRP, Cambridge University, Gaians have strong support in the system.

You sound resigned, and this is sad to hear O9 RP didn't proceed as planned. It saddens me factions weren't interested
