Interesting idea, but I think burning the gate's electronics would be faster than switching every lane section's direction. Besides that, there are no battleships guarding it, and that is why I am talking about disabling it.

The issue within that lies in the fact that they don't have the compatible parts.
Even if Solar parts did work with Ageira tech (I'm going with no) I doubt it'll last very long.
They can try to repair them, and I can wish them good luck.

Or they can call someone in Reynald or Kusary who knows something about jump gates.

Lol good luck.
You do know that Lane/Gate parts tend to blow up in a massive explosion if their cases opened by uncertified techs, right? The only faction to open them are the Lane Hackers (I still don't know how Gallia got Sirian parts, so I refuse to comment there)
If Kusari or Rheinland somehow got them out there, they'd be handling crates each with a bomb set inside of them, ready to go off the moment you dumbly open them in the wrong station.
So you let the economy an safety of your country in the hands of a foregin company? Giving them the possibility of cutting the communications of your nation and you could not do anything about it?
Come on! Spies exist for a reason.

Ok fine... Discovery freelancer ir a world where a secret tecnology remains secret even is this devices are everywere for ¿five or six centuries? One thing is can't build something for copy rights reasons, another is simple can't do it. But ok, is something stupid said for the new guy xD
I will not insist

In Edinbough this jumphole isn't all that far from the Battleship stationed in that system, so I think it's fair to say that the Gallics would be aware of this route. Destroying the jumpgate will not have the impact you are expecting, in my humble opinion.
Most jumpholes are located in areas that make it exceedingly difficult to move battle fleets through. Sure you can fly fighters but massive invasion forces have trouble in rocky terrain.

I think you're talking about vanilla Freelancer.
As I said, somebody needs to read the vanilla lore surrounding lane/gate technology...
