I kinda agree on this part. Official Factions should hold a recruitment day or some training day where similar id players could come and learn. Official Faction members can get potential candidates and the Indy's/newbies could be better players.

Plus it gives official factions something extra to do.

I am not sure whether or not I should write an elaborate paragraph on how teaching or at least helping new/inexpirienced players with snub combat is close to an impossibility.

The tl;dr version would be that no one remotely bothers to put in some kind of effort beyond click-shoot. (And then often goes on to say how bad/hard/complicated pvp is and that the better pvp'ers are whether lifeless nerds or simply use hacks of sorts and relentlessly bash "noobs" to feel better.)

However, I do agree that factions, especially the official ones, should try to actively recruit ingame, not only to show their presence, but also that someone cares. (IMG| does this, shameless self-advertisement.)
From that point it isn't hard to show a newcomer the world beyond caps.

Bla.

Put them in battleship and then let them tear apart by two bombers few times? I already saw some players which got this cure agains "caps are bestest" dissease and it helped.

I was taught to PvP in a snub, by an official faction, a long time ago. This is what kept me out of caps for pretty much the years to come.

I've also taught a lot of new people a lot of tricks in snub PvP, mainly about dodging, which has turned them from being 30-second lasting cannonfodder into pretty decent wingmen. Took 10 minutes to teach them to dodge. If the people refuse the help that you offer, its their problem. It takes 20 seconds to offer it.

Quote:Sadly, this is not a community where this is possible, because too many veteran players have become addicted to the sense of superiority they get from ridiculing and beating up people that have less experience in this computer game than them. It's almost tragic, even more for the game itself and the veteran players than for the noobs, who will just move on to something else and have more fun and lead better lives than them.

You know, I hadn't meet the veteran, who won't be happy to show you some tricks. You know, victories that are coming without resistance are less joyful

Psss... boy, you want some officiality? Won't work, because official faction is responsibility for your actions in first place, something that most new players would like to avoid.

P.S. Hi, karlotta?

A lot are happy to help, yes. Which is why it shouldn't be a problem to get a lot of people to go out and actively offer help, instead of waiting for it.

No, not "psssst want some officiality".

"Psssst want to learn to be an ace pilot, work in a well organized group, make lots of friends, and have fun with the most entertaining RP? Join my wing!" will work much better. Official faction should be the ones who are best at this. Instead, most official faction members fly around telling people how much better they are than them, and how they will never be good enough to deserve to join their faction. Guess what... people aren't going to want to be your friend if you do that.

I feel like I'm speaking Chinese.

I don't want to join an official faction. I know how to RP, I know how to PvP, I don't want to fly a battleship.
Harrington,

The post wasn't directed at you individually, nor it was specifically about official factions.

Grouping up with people is the best way to gain experience in all aspects and if you can prove it otherwise, better shush.

If you don't want replies to your replies that make you look stupid, better think more and read better before you post. Or shush yourself.
