Guys... I want to thank everyone who has posted in this thread over the years, taking it to its 500th page. That's a hell of a lot of music.

This thread has resulted in bands I have never heard of before becoming that-CD-that-never-leaves-my-car. Music from this thread has made me laugh, moved me, astonished and confused me, made me dance (badly and like an idiot, but only when nobody's looking), and has been shared among my friends and family.

I no longer play here, and yet I come back to look at this thread.

To me, this thread encapsulates everything good about this community. A group of people from wildly diverse backgrounds and situations, living on opposite sides of the planet, sharing something they love with other people - free of charge, without expecting anything in return, and without the risk of being judged for doing so.

After all, music is there for the sharing. Showing someone their next favourite album is potentially a gift that will be carried with them for years to come, even their entire lives. It may seem like nothing to post a tune you like in here, but every time you do so, you may have given someone else a dose of pure unadulterated musical joy.

So once again - Thank you. All of you. Each and every person who has posted in this thread has contributed to a wonderful and excellent thing.
