Quote:No, you took your broken gallic tech'd pirate gunboat to sit above Manhattan and taunt lawfuls. You speak as if you log Tushkie for piracy. I suggest you stop.
That's the only place where your lawful char see me. When it was needed, I camped Penny gate to catch USI guys. When it was needed I camped Colorado gate too.And when it's needed I fly to 'hattan where the whole Navy fleet is camping and back up other criminals. All in all,I will say from my own experience, when I log in I get satisfaction from both, piracy and fight. I do pirate traders, which risks my being in New York,I know that. But the time I chose to be a pirate,I realised the risk and that's one of the most interesting part of being pirate.
Quote:Saying that you pirate a guy and the lawfuls come get you is like complaining about the cold from eating icecream. It is to be expected and part of the piracy fun is to avoid that.
Do you think I'm complaining about that? I stated that argument to prove you that whenever you see a pirate being shot by a lawful char, don't call him "A pew-oriented pirate".
I like the way it happens. Without lawfuls being a pirate wouldn't have any sense.
I don't try to avoid lawfuls (maybe I should try but...),I enjoy talking with them the most. I prefer talking with lawfuls than talking with traders, from whom the majority isn't even talkative.
Quote:Let's say... but why? That you, as a pirate, find piracy boring is one thing.
I don't find piracy boring, yet. For one reason, I do both: shoot and pirate ships. And yet, RP makes everything much more interesting. You can get a great RP even from a fight. I don't use the word "Pew". I try my best to enjoy both: the show and the RP during the battle. "Pew" is the sh***, which is happening in Connecticut.
Since you are back to numbers crunching I suggest to use Hribek calc- no need to waste your time doing testing, some good old post from 4.85 before the Traders were buffed several times:

Bombers are almost equal, but slightly below, fighters do really less damage, compared. Most efficient gunboat weapons are primary guns, sometimes, like for light gunboats with 6 slots, your best choice are basic turrets, since they're most efficient but still drain your powerplant. For heavy gunboats there's some room for guns with higher dps, but if the efficiency gets lowered significantly, you will see the trader running time and distance grow.
Distance between trade lane ring pairs usually ranges between 6000 and 8000m.
For shorter lanes like the one in Magellan, from California gate to Freeport 4, there's only 5 ring pairs, so 4 segments. if you get stopped in the middle, you've got about 15-16K to the nearest docking point (FP4 quickdock or California gate, there's a border station on the other side)
I explained 1 year ago that piracy would die there. It is quite sad that the community starts to notice it now.

Aren't you the guy who flies a Gallic Brigand Gunboat through New York with a Pirate ID acting like it's a Terrorist ID without any kind of logical explanation how you're able to get, maintain and replace (when it's blown up) an Asco Gunboat?
I don't think it's physically possible to roleplay while flying a ship that you're only flying for reasons that exist out of roleplay (being that it has a shape and crosshair placement that the Freelancer engine wasn't really designed for).

I don't see a problem in flying a Gallic ship in New York. I can RP it anytime. If you are upset about it because it's broken, then say it so.
I also have many other gunboats too. And I won't fly asco. I don't even fly anything at the moment. But whenever I log...I will remove that damn ship,if you guys are so upset about it.
Jump trading, at least nowadays with the current mechanics of piracy, is also killing piracy. Sure, go back a few updates and it wasn't so bad, but with the way things are now jump trading is detrimental for pirate activity.
I was actually on a pirate ship, waiting for Junkers and the like to walk past me in the Omicrons/Taus and pounce on them. Or at least try to, since Salvager squads aren't that fun to take alone. Anyway, moving on.
When you look at the map, that's a lot of systems they've just bypassed. If they were trading normally, there's a lot of possibility for them getting pirated at the systems inbetween. Sure, you can try and pirate them in Alpha, but that doesn't always go so nicely.
tl;dr Jump trading is bad for piracy please nerf/remove.

This has been going on for some time now. Saw them jumping from Alpha once or twice and once from Texas. Abuses<Shit. But they will get what they deserve sooner or later... be it as a sanction or a group of cap hunters going for the kill. I say if you dont want this organize a squad of 5-6 bombers and 1-2 fighters, just in case, to hunt for these abusers. It would be fun as a target practice as well.
