My shift today was relaxing and enjoyable. I hopped into my ship only to find that I had been sent 10,000,000 credits from a hearty person called 'TiTanker'. I appreciate your donation and I will make sure it goes towards helping the new players of disco. Anyway, with that flying start I undocked into the orbit of Erie and found some new players trading which made me feel good because a lot of the time they are smashing each others brains out. I enjoyed the view for a while before some questions came my way. I'll highlight one of them, so an unamed player asked what the email address of the forum was so he could allow it to send emails into his gmail account to activate his forum account. So I had a little scan through my emails to find the address and typed it to him. Simple. He thanked me for my small work and I wished him safe travels. I expect I'll log later to answer more questions. Until then.
A busy Sunday morning across the Sirius systems. And made all the more enjoyable accompanied by my fellows Angel Cashew and Angel Katana. Admin Mwerte stopped by to say hello as well.
We met some great ship captains including Hornisse, @Confused.com, John.Carlend, Loadruner_1, Gateway|-GSV-Sulaco, and many more.
Items of discussion included how to capture the chat logs onto your computer, character naming rules, what percentage of a reputation decreases with an unfriendly when getting a bribe, where to get the Liberty Security Force ID, why were the forums acting weird, when is an inactive character deleted and can it be recovered, who to contact for a cloak and jumpdrive, what the /net command was and why it didn't work, and finally, a player wanted the developers to create "prettier" ships. I heartily agreed.
Today's shift was pretty relaxing. I had only two players asking for help, but I felt good when I helped them with their issues. I've seen lots of players passing by the Planet Erie, and I tend to memorize some of them to see how they advance. And I must say, they advanced quite well. One new player asked me for few instructions on the server couple of days ago and today he's flying a Serenity transport! I was amazed and I feel happy to see a new player advancing so fast!

Had a fantastic first shift today, plenty of mining related questions and a few about trading and IDs. My highlight had to be getting a new guy to 4 million just by assisting him with his mining by answering his questions. Had to clarify a few things about piracy, but that was simple enough. Also had a chat with a Disco Vet about server population and where that was heading. Brilliant day, can't wait for the next shift!
While performing my heavenly duties, I found Drone.001 a very friendly AI floating about near Bethelehem Station. I soon discovered he had some whiskey in his cargo hold and forthwith purchased some from him.
I heard rumor of a Canaan protocol among the AI, but this unit had no such programming. But he did mention that some AI units originating in the Omicrons were overriding their non-aggression programming and attacking humans. This is disturbing news to be sure.
After taking a few sips of whiskey, I could feel my wings going numb and thought it best to rest on Pennsylvania.
Thanks for the compliment, BigBucks. appreciate the words, homey. hand hi there, Sass.
alright, Story time:
Did a late shift last night. Another vet returning. he enquired if there was a way to make quick money and whether HF was still active. I answered his questions and guided him to /Restart Beginner. really kind guy.
then, a new player playing a bounty hunter enquired about bounty hunting rules. I guided him through rules regarding that, and he flew off, saying thank you..Another pleasant encounter.
then came a rude guy. asking how many versions of disco were there, what systems were in each etc. I guided him to the forums, but he raged, shouting that I was useless etc(who cares, this is voluntary).
well, after that, i helped an RHA buddy of mine move some stuff in conn.
Finished my second shift last night, had a chat with a miner wannabe who had no idea where to start. They started by calling themself a noob and by the time I left, he was already plotting trade courses and deciding what ship he'd like to mine in. It was nice to see him go from no self esteem to a happy miner.
Also had a little chat with a guy who had no ID on his ship. Offered him direction and off he went (he was a player from the Exiles and had forgotten the rules). Fun times!
