Junkers are kind of balanced now. They are not welcome in Kusari. They have a cargo limit of 4300. The only thing about them is that they are quasi lawful. Well, there are a lot of quasi lawful factions out there.
From what I see, in the whole thread, it goes like "The majority of the in game players are Junkers. So let's spoil their fun aka nerf them." I don't think that would improve the not-so-admirable player base that plays everyday. Junkers can't earn as much as the corporations ID'ed 5k'ers can. If you can provide a legitimate reason to nerf Junkers, then fine. If it is just "Hey, the server is full of Junkers, nerf the crap outta them and make them useless" then I don't think it is an appropriate reason.
Junkers are just a lot of fun to play really. Although personally I do have a distaste for those who use the ID for nothing but trading and don't really contribute to the Junker RP.

Hauling legal cargo is supposed to be a false front for illegal activity, as far as Junkers go.
That's not to say people can't or shouldn't make legit runs with a Junker character - I just see it as wasting an otherwise deep and involved ID.

Yeah keep in mind that, from experience, I know many Junkers can only get on late at night (SMT wise). So you will find it often that a large portion of the late night population are Junkers/congressmen. Ironically during the day its mostly indy junkers and/or JM guys i see, and a few congressmen. But I mean, what is there the nerf? Most of these junkers use their ID/IFF and shipline, so you mean just punish them for being popular and following the rules?

Honestly folks there is no need for 'nerf this and nerf that' threads every time something's not going your way. I see it all to often. People shouldn't be allowed to suggest 'nerfs' for anything because not every player has a perfect grasp on the game, but can go post a nerf thread with little effort or experience because the thought 'popped' in their heads.
I am fine with junkers as they are, I'm not the one who opened a thread on them - but I will say the following, while its quiet possible that we will damage more then what we could fix by touching the junkers, having competition would be a good idea. Zoners are the only faction that I can think of, because all other corporations have a steady diplomacy. Either Zoners or Freelancers.
Still to this day there has not been a good strong Freelancer faction - and it's soooo ripe for the taking.

Also, aside from not having any kind of capship line, most Junker tech sux 1v1. the only way to win a fight against a skilled fighter pilot as a Junker is to have a wingman (or two) - why and more importantly how would you further nerf that?
If xenos had a cool looking (obviously rusty and broke-down, though) ship line, more people would play them, and then we'd have plenty of activity in the way of xeener-junker wars.

i remember that time ago someone put exactly what you said, rusted and ducktaped ships, clearly adapted from CTE line, i tried to find the image but seems its long gone
while not what it should, xeno has acces to some "decent" ships right now... but yes a shipline would be cool
